The West Virginia Top Prospect Games are less than two weeks away and the roster boasts some of the state's top talent.
Among those that will participate is 2016 Brooke High School catcher Chad Harper. The 6-foot, 190-pound backstop showcased pop times of 2.06-2.18 on throws of 69 mph from the crouch at the 2014 WV Top Prospect Games. Harper displayed an accurate arm and a quick release and his physical frame projects for improvements in arm strength moving forward. The right-handed hitter utilizes a high hands load from a square stance and showed the ability to routinely square the baseball in batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Harper went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk during game action and showed a high energy approach to the game.
The 2015 West Virginia Top Prospect Games will take place August 8-9 at the YMCA Kennedy Center Field in Huntington. As we draw closer to announcing the final roster and pitching rotations we will continue to highlight top prospects scheduled to participate in the state's premier event of the summer.
