Just two days remains until PBR Pennsylvania's Unsigned Senior Showcase on October 3rd at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. Today we preview the lone participant on the roster from West Virginia as we highlight Wheeling Park catcher Tyler Cooley.
Cooley is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed hitter that starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short stride to initiate his swing. He loads his hands deep leading to some length in his swing, but also displays a feel for the barrel. Cooley recently went 2-for-3 with a triple in the early game at the Western PA Fall Review. The athletically built backstop also turned on a ball for a foul home run in his final at bat of the day. Cooley recorded workout pop times of 2.22-2.27 and arm strength of 71-mph from the crouch. He displayed a very soft receiving hand and a quick, clean transition on throws.
A complete roster and schedule for the event will be released tomorrow following the close of registrations this evening.
