Uncommitted Senior Spotlight: Colton Matthews - OF Morgantown HS

This week, we will be taking a look at Uncommitted 2019 prospects. Today we highlight OF Colton Matthews from Morgantown HS. Colton played this past summer for Morgantown Post 2 and this fall for the Appalachian Aces.
Kuykendall on Matthews: "Colton is no doubt one of the best outfielders in the state of West Virginia. His ability to read the ball off the bat is extraordinary. I've seen him run down balls that seem to be sure doubles off the bat and end up being outs. Someone is going to get a really good player that has the ability to step in and play immediately"

Scouting Report
11.18.18 - Defensively, Matthews reads the ball well off the bat. Played this fall for the Appalachian Aces and against college competition played a very solid CF. Rounds the ball extremely well and carries momentum into and through his throws. 82 mph arm was recorded. Reads ball well off the bat.
Offensively, starts in a athletic position with his hands out and away from his body. Uses lower half well and hits to all fields. Recorded a 7.20-sixty which can be attributed to his overall athleticism. He is one of the best overall available 2019's left in the class.
