Bridgeport went wire-to-wire as the No. 1 ranked team in the PBR Elite Eight rankings earning their second West Virginia AA state title in as many years. Championship Saturday was highlighted by a 10 inning marathon followed by two games dominated by pitching. Following is a recap of all three championship games.

Jefferson 2, Nitro 1 (Class AAA)

Bradley DavisA pair of left-handed pitchers gave the fans in attendance a show limiting the two high-powered offenses to three runs on nine hits. It was junior Bradley Davis (top right) that was just a bit better earning the win while moving to 8-0 with a 0.76 ERA on the year. Davis retired the first 13 Wildcats and did not allow a run until the 6th inning finishing with a four hitter.

Nitro senior Kipp Brewer (bottom right) was almost as good. Following a first inning that saw Jefferson score both its runs on an infield single by Paul Witt and two Nitro errors, Brewer was virtually unhittable. The West Virginia State recruit allowed 5 hits in Kipp Brewerhis complete game effort and did not allow a run after the first inning.

Jefferson capped a magical season with a 37-2 record and its 11th state title in program history. The Cougars' lone losses were to Hammonton, NJ in the Mingo Bay Classic in early April and a two run loss to eventual Class AA state champion Bridgeport.

Bridgeport 5, chapmanville regional 0 (class AA)

Houston MorrisBridgeport, preseason No. 1 in the PBR Elite Eight rankings, scored two runs in the 1st inning and never looked back in completing their defense of a 2014 Class AA state title. The Indians finished off a magical season that saw them break a school record for wins (37-3) and went wire to wire as the top AA team in the state.

The Indians jumped out to a 2-0 lead early on an RBI single from Houston Morris (top right) and scored again when Hunter Fain's infield single resulted in a throwing error. Jared CleghornMorris delivered another run scoring single later in the game helping the Indians add on, but the two early runs was really all that were needed.

Junior right-hander Jared Cleghorn (bottom right) was in total control from the start. Cleghorn went the distance, allowing just two hits while striking out five. He did not allow a Tiger to advance past first base on the day.

Wahama 7, man 0 (Class A)

Jared Nutter tripled and Rickey Kearns brought him home with a single to score the game's first run in the 5th inning. Wahams then tacked on six runs on six consecutive hits with two outs in the 6th inning to secure a 7-0 win and their first state title since 1998.

Junior Mason Hicks went six plus innings, allowing just three hits, to register the win. The White Falcons (25-7) return return the bulk of their lineup and both winning pitchers from this year's state tournament to a squad that will have its sights set on a repeat performance in 2016. Man (19-15) came up one win shy in their effort to repeat as the Class A champs after winning the 2014 title.
