The Hotlist: Top 2016 Power Hitters

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

One of the most coveted commodities in baseball is power. Continuing our look at the senior class, this week we highlight the top power hitters in each state.

Daniel Bakst, SS, Poly Prep Country Day School, NY
Bakst led the Tournament of Stars in hitting with a .533 average (8-for-15), routinely making loud contact and ultimately made the 18U National Team, winning a gold medal at the WBSC 18U World Cup. He had three doubles and squared up an 88-mph fastball for a home run at TOS. He has average bat speed and takes a balanced swing. He’s aggressive in the box and doesn’t get cheated. Defensively, he fits at a corner position as he’s average runner, but he has solid footwork. He is committed to Stanford.
