Scouting Report
11.18.18 - Defensively, Hussey (West Virginia commit) showed solid footwork around the bag to go along with an above average lateral mobility. His hands are soft and his glove presentation is solid.
Offensively, he displayed a low effort swing that created huge pop off his barrel. Hussey registered a 95 mph exit velocity of the tee which was second best for the event. He seems to get better every time he shows up to an event. Hussey also recorded a personal best 6.90-60. Overall, he is one of the top prospects at 1B not only in West Virginia, but the entire country in the 2021 Class.
5/30/18
A definite bat to follow out of the state of West Virginia. Swings it from the left side, showing huge raw power for class in BP. What makes his power even more impressive is he does it with a lower effort swing. In game swings weren’t as aggressive but if he can translate what we saw in BP into game he is the type of left-handed power bat colleges love.
Home to 1st: 4.58
Infield Velocity: 77
Exit Velocity 91
12/3/17 - A physical bat from the left side. Stood out for his ability to generate impressive pop with a lower effort, smooth swing. Movements are fluid during loading sequence, with lower half creating regular timing. Strength is obvious through the zone and his slight loft to his path allows him to lift the ball naturally. Ball jumps off his bat, especially to pull side. Tied for an event high, 87 mph exit velocity off the tee. In the infield he is a corner guy with above average range at both spots. Reacts well off the bat and has solid lateral mobility. Hands are soft and present glove skills are above average for class. Threw with 76 mph arm strength across the diamond.
