PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase Analysis: Class of 2017

The fall/winter schedule of PBR events made the move indoors on October 8th with the PBR Evaluation and Measurables Showcase beginning a series of seven events that will be held over the next five months at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today we conclude our analysis of the prospects from three states that participated by looking at a pair of uncommitted seniors.

Class of 2017

Dalton Dodson, 3B, Jefferson (WV)
Dalton Dodson5-foot-7, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and uses a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Displayed above average strength in his lower half and wore out the middle of the field in a solid round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Showcased solid feet and athletic actions defensively with accurate 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash and showcased the ability to play through the baseball. Arm strength would likely play best at second base at the next level.

Grant Schwartz, 1B/3B, Red Lion Area (PA)
Grant SchwartzPhysical 6-foot-5, 235-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a short stride to initiate his swing. Displayed good tempo and a feel for the barrel in a controlled swing that led to a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Showed gap-to-gap pop and the potential for above average power if he learns to fully incorporate his lower half. Moves well around the bag at first base and showcased a soft glove hand with accurate 80 mph arm strength across the diamond.
