PA/WV: Top Outfield Performances of the Summer

With the completion of the West Virginia Top Prospect Games last week the summer schedule of events in Pennsylvania and West Virginia have drawn to a close. In preparation for the start of the Fall College Prospect Program in September we now look back on some of the top performances of the summer.
Today we take a look at the top outfield performances of the summer at a PBR event.
#1 2015 OF Andrew Zban (Huntington, WV)
Zban impressed in every facet of the game at the PA Top Prospect Games. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitter showed athletic actions in the outfield with good feet (6.97 60-yard dash) and the top OF arm at the event (91 mph). The uncommitted senior made a number of solid plays defensively during the two games his team played including a catch he made in foul territory in the bullpen in right field. The left-handed hitter showcased a fluid swing and an 88 mph bat exit velocity while going 2-for-6 in game action.
#2 2016 OF Jake Burlingame (Horseheads, NY)
Burlingame went 6-for-11 in game play over four games at the PBR Mid-Atlantic Border Battle earning a spot on the Team PA roster for the PBR Future Games. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed hitter showed good balance and a fluid swing from a square stance. He utilized a toe tap stride and loose hands to consistently barrel the baseball during batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Burlingame displayed athletic actions in the outfield with an 87 mph arm and ran a 7.11 60-yard dash.
#3 2015 OF Frankie Jezioro (Peters Township, PA)
Jezioro displayed the skill set that makes him so projectable during the PBR Mid-Atlantic Border Battle. His 6.62 foot speed and the ability to switch hit with some pop from both sides of the plate places him among the top uncommitted seniors in Pennsylvania. Jezioro showcased his ability to cover a large amount of territory in the outfield along with a 92 mph arm. The switch-hitter has a similar open stance with a high hands load from both sides of the plate. He has a bit of length on the left side of the plate but he also shows the greatest power potential as a lefty. Jezioro, ranked No. 28 in the PA Class of 2015, registered an 89 mph bat exit velocity and clocked a 4.04 to first base from the left hand box in game action.
#4 2016 OF Julian Bury (cedar cliff, PA)
Bury put together a very solid sophomore season at Cedar Cliff HS hitting .293 with 15 runs scored and 14 RBI. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitter barreled everything at the PA Underclass Games and also showed his ability to handle the bat by dropping down a bunt base hit. Bury hits from a slightly open stance with a high hands load. He displayed a bat exit velocity of 84 mph and the ability to use all fields. Bury takes good routes to the baseball in the outfield and has the ability to cover an above average amount of territory. The junior showcased a strong, accurate 84 mph arm and ran a 7.21 60-yard dash.
#5 2015 OF Raven Beeman (Somerset, PA)
Beeman is a physical 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect with a big upside. The right-handed hitter registered a 90 mph bat exit velocity hitting from a square stance with a high hands load at the PA Top Prospect Games. Beeman went 3-for-7 in game play and showed the ability to use the middle of the field routinely. The uncommitted senior turned in an event best 6.61 60-yard dash while showcasing an 87 mph arm from the outfield. Beeman went on to commit to UMBC in July.
#6 Gabe Witmer (Twin Valley, PA)
Witmer missed day one of the PA Top Prospect Games, but made up for lost time by banging out two hits in game play on day two. The 5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitter showcased an 85 mph arm from the outfield and the ability to glide to the baseball. The 6.95 runner gets excellent reads on the baseball and will be a quality defender at the next level. Witmer worked one solid inning on the hill sitting 78-80 with command of a 65 mph curveball.
#7 Isaac Neal (Parkland, PA)
Neal impressed in all facets of the game at the PA Top Prospect Games going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and running a 6.91 60-yard dash. He generates a bat exit velocity of 87 mph utilizing quick hands and a strong upper body. If he learns to incorporate his lower half he will become an even more effective hitter. The 6-foot, 175-pound righty sat 81-83 for a brief stint on the mound prior to departing after being hit with a line drive. Neal showcased a strong arm (86 mph) and athletic actions defensively in the outfield.
#8 2015 OF Parker Abate (Malvern Prep, PA)
Abate has the ability to affect the game with his foot speed every day. The 5-foot-7, 145-pound right-handed hitter is adept at bunting and showcased a 6.86 60-yard dash at the PA Top Prospect Games. The uncommitted senior starts from a square stance and displayed a short swing path wearing out the middle of the field in batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Abate showcased good jumps, and precise routes to the baseball defensively with an 83 mph throwing arm.
#9 2015 Drew Newcomb (Lewisburg Area, PA)
Newcomb is a 6-foot, 170-pound prospect that showcased a well-rounded skill set at the PA Top Prospect Games. The right-handed hitter displayed a 79 mph bat exit velocity hitting from a square stance. Newcomb 3-for-6 with a double and a triple in game action over two days. He also showed athletic actions in the outfield with an 81 mph arm and ran a 6.73 60-yard dash.
#10 2015 OF Eric Duran (Pine-Richland, PA)
Duran excelled in all facets of the game at the PA Top Prospect Games. The physical 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitter showed legitimate pop from a square stance during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. The uncommitted senior ran a 6.77 60-yard dash and displayed athletic actions in the outfield with an 84 mph arm. Although he went hitless in five trips to the plate during game play, Duran squared two baseballs for hard line drive outs.
