Physical: 5-foot-9, 145 pounds; athletic. 6.69 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even, shoulder width; up down. limited effort with stays in the zone; 11 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. McCoy is able to produce 11.7 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 64%. Gap to gap; average Trackman exit velocity of 82 MPH; peak exit velo was 94 MPH.
Defensively: Upright setup; covers ground laterally. funnels to the hip; high 3/4. INF - 80 MPH. OF - 83 MPH.
5-foot-8, 140-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a solid feel for the barrel and the ability to use all fields with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Ran a event best 6.57 60-yard dash and showcased a soft glove hand with an ability to play through the baseball defensively. Made throws from multiple arm slots with accurate 82 mph arm strength across the diamond. Sat 74-77 out of a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound. Changeup at 69-70 is thrown with good sell and curveball with 11/5 shape is spotted at 64-65
The 5-foot-8, 140-pound middle infield was very impressive on this day. This was the first time we have seen him, and he didn’t disappoint. He displayed obvious athleticism evident by his 6.94 - 60 time. Offensively, he starts in a neutral, slightly open stance. Generates solid bat speed with good use of his core. As he continues to develop physically, I believe he has the potential to be a gap to gap hitter. A 72 mph exit velocity was recorded. Defensively, McCoy displayed solid footwork and the ability to make accurate throws across the infield. A 78 mph positional velocity was recorded, which is a impressive for his age. Overall, McCoy will be a high follow in the 2022 class
