Tanner Lambert (East Fairmont) showed promise at the plate going 2-for-5 with a walk and an RBI in six trips to the plate during game play at the PA Top Prospect Games. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitter utilized a square stance and flat swing path to produce a bat exit velocity of 82 mph.
In an event filled with talented catchers, Lambert held his own. The junior showcased pop times of 2.15-2.23 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch.
Lambert is coming off a very solid sophomore season at East Fairmont and will be counted on as a leader and run producer next year in a Bees' lineup that returns a significant portion of their roster. With two more years of high school baseball and a frame that suggest further growth is likely, Lambert is likely to draw interest as one of the top catchers in his class in West Virginia.
