Game of the Day Wheeling Park at Morgatown

Morgantown, No. 7 in the most recent Metro News AA Power Rankings, continued it's winning ways defeating Wheeling Park 11-3 behind a four hit day from Andrew Berry.
The Patriots got out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first on a double by Collin Hlad (top right), run scoring singles by Jacob Shia and Jarrod Jones (No. 21 in the current WV Class of 2018 rankings), and an error.
Morgantown began chipping away at the Patriot lead n third. Jacob Kiehl singled, Quinton Smith singled and Berry doubled to cut the deficit to 3-2. With Samuel Britton stiling the Wheeling Park offense from the mound, Morgantown was able to break things open in the fifth. Five hits and an error resulted in six Mohigan runs. The damage was done wthout an extra base hit as Jordan Page (currently No. 28 in WV Class of 2017 rankings, bottom right), Berry, Connor Kelly, Cameron Gyorko and Quintin Smith all singled.
While Caleb Taylor was finishing for Britton with two scoreless innings of relief, Morgantown added two more runs. The damage was done on singles by Berry, yet again, and Connor Wiseman for the 11-3 final score.
Winning pitcher Samuel Britton's final line read: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 4 K, 3 BB. Offensive leaders included Berry (4-4, 5 TB, 1 R), Wisman (2-3, 3 RBI, 1 R) and Smith (2-5, 2 RBI, 1 R) for Morgantown. Hlad recorded the only Patriot multihit game (2-4, 1 R).
