Game of the Day: Logan at Hurricane

LOGAN 5, Hurricane 1

ChaseSenior Chase Burnette took matters into his own hands on Friday tossing a complete game two-hitter to lead Logan to a 5-1 win over Hurricane. The righty struck out three and walked just one using just 91 pitches in quieting the bats of the No. 2 ranked team in Class AAA.

Burnette also provided much of his team's offense going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI. Alex Toler also had a big day at the plate for the Wildcats going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Logan scored single runs in the 1st and 5th innings sandwiched around a three run 3rd inning to carry a 5-0 lead into the late innings. Hurricane plated their lone run in the bottom of the 6th. Beau Adkins (2B) and Garrett Gress accounted for the only hits off Burnette on the afternoon.
