Scouting Report
7/12/17 5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral set up with short knee to knee leg kick. Hands are quick, loose and direct to baseball. There is solid balance rhythm and weight transfer. McCallister would benefit from more aggressive hip turn following heel plant as there is intermittent tendency to sway with lower half.
Defensively, attacks the ball creating good angles and hops, Demonstrates smooth, quick transfer and accurate 76 mph acrosss the infield arm strength. McCallister's range, lateral quickness and 7.15 sixty time are reflective of his considerable athleticism.
4/25/17 2020 infielder showed good balance and stayed behind baseball well in leading game off with line drive single to pull side. He also doubled on ground ball down line to pull side. Bat speed consistent with age and some length to swing forces early commitment. Head is still. Overall McCallister is advanced for his age and is definite follow n Class of 2020.
2/24/18 Initiates swing from neutral set up with short leg kick and stride staying neutral. There is excellent balance and rhythm with solid weight shift and hip turn. Hands are quick and direct to baseball with flat path. Bat spends extended time in hitting zone. Quick twitch skills are reflected in 4.01 recorded home to first time. Arm strength of 82 mph present on throws across the diamond. Overall skill set makes very interesting class of 2020 prospect.
