2017 Spring Team Preview: HAMPSHIRE TROJANs
Team Name: Hampshire Trojans
Head Coach: Chad VanMeter
Classification: AAA
2016 Record: 10-18
Conference Record: AMAC
Returning Starters: 6
2017 Team Strengths:
- Senior leadership, six returning starters
2017 Team Weaknesses:
- Deep region in AAA baseball with two-time defending state champions Jefferson still the team to beat
Coach Outlook: "We are very excited about the upcoming season. We will rely on three returning seniors and a number of talented underclassmen."
PBR Outlook: Look for the Trojans to build on their 10 wins of a year ago. While Jefferson remains the favorite to repeat in the region, Hampshire should be one of several AAA teams that battle for the right to face the Cougars in the region playoffs.
Top Returning Players:
- Cole Shaffer, (2017 OF/RHP)
- Andrew Clem, (2018 OF/2B)
- Eli Hott (2019 C/RHP)
- Parker Grace (2017 OF)
- Matthew Kessner (2018 OF)
- Richard Stanley (2017 RHP)
Notable Alumni:
- Shane Ennis (Class of 2014, junior at WVU)
