AT THE TOP

Ryan Brennecke LHP / Oconomowoc , WI / 2025

South Carolina commit. Brennecke moves into the No. 1 slot for the first time in his prep career after impressing throughout the spring circuit, touching 93 mph with the FB. The southpaw stands at a mature 6-foot, 198-pound frame, and showcased an easy, repeatable delivery that impressed for Oconomowoc. Brennecke’s FB played in the upper-80s-to-low-90s throughout the majority of the spring and summer, as the primary pitch proved to be effective in generating weak contact and swings and misses. Brennecke mixes in a BB and CH to complete his arsenal, both thrown in any count. The BB is sharp and thrown in the mid-70s, while the CH plays in the low-80s with deception. The left-hander has proven to be an uncomfortable at bat with the ability to command the strike zone. Brennecke has continued to look the part as one of the top competitors in the state after a strong showing last summer at the 2023 Prep Baseball Future Games—raising his stock as an arm-to-know before he enters his final season of his prep career.

Kutz garnered Third Team All-State honors for his prowess on the mound, finishing the spring at a 7-1 record. At the plate, Kutz was on the barrel in our staff’s multiple looks—showcasing his power to the pull-side. Kutz attacks strikes and has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to lift the baseball, showing well over the past couple of months. The Nebraska commit inserts himself at No. 2 in our newest update, continuing to provide an intriguing two-way profile as he develops.

Ethan Bauerschmidt RHP / Tremper, WI / 2025

Penn State commit. Bauerschmidt is one of the top athletes in the Badger State’s 2025 class, presenting himself in a 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame. The right-hander was one of the top standouts from the summer circuit, showcasing a lively FB that was paired with a mature BB. Bauerschmidt garners swings and misses on the BB at a consistent rate, as the out-pitch has proven to be effective in multiple live appearances. His arsenal is complete with a low-80s CH that gives a similar look to the FB. The to-be senior continues to refine his craft, rising to No. 3 in Wisconsin's class of 2025 rankings after a successful spring and summer.

His best pitch may be the BB though, as the right-hander has turned his secondary into an effective weapon that gets outs at a high level. Kussow spins the pitch at an average of above 2,600 RPM, throwing off the timing of batters at the plate with sharp, downward movements. The Arrowhead product has flashed a CH at times, completing his arsenal. Kussow put together a solid spring and summer campaign, including earning a Second Team All-State award for his work on the bump.

He spun his CB at a high clip, averaging 2,458 RPM per pitch. It proved to get outs both at The Rock and at LakePoint, earning swings and misses in the process.
