Much like the 2018s and 2019s, there was not a ton of movement at the top of the rankings. The fall is just not that heavy of a season to see that big jump or new prospects bursting onto the scene, along with the fact that high school fall sports are starting up. A handful of guys in our top ten trade in the glove for the pigskin in the fall, Luke Fox (Catholic Memorial), Joe Hauser (Sun Prairie) and Tyler Chadwick (Marshall) were all strapping on the shoulder pads.

The most notable change in the top ten and biggest revelation in the entire rankings came out of the right arm of George Klassen (Port Washington). Previously at No. 8, Klassen jumped up to No. 2, even making enough of a case for himself to be considered for that coveted No. 1 slot. Late in the fall at the Hitters Top Prospect College Camp, the 6-foot, 150-pound RHP showed a blistering 87-89 mph fastball that touched 90 mph on his last bullet. Our staff has always projected that type of velocity out of his loose wiry arm, but showing it this early now begs the question, how much more is there? Put the fastball aside and Klassen also brings a plus power changeup with hard arm side action at 80-84 mph. His breaking ball is still maturing as he just started throwing one earlier this year, but the conviction to throw it is already there.

The other shakeup in the top ten comes from SS Michael Seegers (Home School) who looks to be the next high end defender at that position to come out of the Badger State. Seegers is a dynamic playmaker type at a premium position who possesses the footspeed, arm strength and hands to stick at shortstop going forward. Seegers jumped into the top ten for the first time at No. 8.

There’s a lot to talk about just outside the top 10. Catchers Cameron Dupont (West De Pere), Thomas Otto (Appleton North) and Jake Berg (Bay Port) are all Fox Valley area prospects who are knocking at the door, along with Max Wagner (Green Bay Preble), Gavin Hinckley (West Bend West) and Arthur Liebau (Homestead). We’ll touch more on these guys and more as we look into risers and newcomers throughout the week.
