Wisconsin 2019 Rankings Updated

The 2019 Wisconsin Rankings were due for a refresh, and with all the talent we saw this winter we have expanded our list to a top 100. We added over 20 new names to the ranks, of which we will study closer later in the week. In addition to our coverage of the list's newcomers, we'll also examine some of the fast risers, names continuing to climb the charts.

At the top, RHP Jack Washburn (Webster) holds on to the No. 1 spot heading into the spring season. Nipping at his heels is left-handed hitting catcher Nathan Stevens (Waunakee). Stevens, an Arkansas commit, appears to have added good strength this winter; he’s up to 6-foot, 197-pounds, and looks physical behind and at the dish. His bat speed is as quick as ever, and along with his plus arm, has always been his best tool. Stevens' added strength has translated in his foot speed as well, improving to a 6.90 in the 60 and showing true versatility as an outfield defender as well.
At No. 4 Connor Prielipp (Tomah) proves to be one of the more coveted left-handed arms in the Midwest. Prielipp, yet again, showed an easy fastball at 86-87 mph with life. His curveball looked improved, with hard biting action, and demonstrated feel for a 79-80 mph changeup. Prielipp has a quiet confidence on the mound and is coming off of a strong sophomore season. He could put up big numbers with Tomah this spring.

New to the top 10 is left-handed hitting outfielder Jack Krumbach (Madison Memorial). Krumbach is a Xavier commit who stands 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. He's proven to be a plus runner with advanced arm strength and wields a bat that continues to improve. Krumbach’s leap comes mostly from what he showed at the plate this winter. Krumbach took one of the best BP rounds at the Madison Preseason I.D., on par with No. 2 prospect Stevens. Combine his bat with his 6.66 speed and 89 mph arm from the outfield, and Krumbach is quietly earning a place among the rest of this list's high-level ranks.
