Top-10 Profiles of 2019: No. 10 Vincent Trapani
December 16, 2019
We'll be spending the rest of the month detailing the players who earned the most clicks to their profiles throughout 2019 ending with the state's most-viewed profile of the year, set to be released on Dec. 31. Today marks the start of our countdown of the top-10 most-viewed profiles of 2019, beginning with RHP Vincent Trapani (Eau Claire Memorial; Arkansas commit).
Earlier today, we called Team Wisconsin’s trip to the inaugural PBR Future Games at LakePoint the No. 10 story of the year. Well, junior right-hander Trapani was a member of the 2018 Team Wisconsin roster a year ahead of schedule. He’s long been one of the top arms in the Midwest and is the No. 3 overall prospect in the state, too.
His arm strength is one-of-a-kind. Trapani is billed at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, with a strong physique, especially in his lower half. His trunk helps him generate big velocity – up to 92 mph in front of our staff, with some unverified (though easy to believe) reports of more in the tank. PBR’s National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt saw Trapani pitch on Day One of the Area Code’s Underclass Games where he sat 88-92 mph in three dominant innings.
A top-200-ranked prospect in the country’s 2021 class, Trapani is certainly one of the top Midwestern names to know headed into the new year and there could be some pro ball buzz headed his way around this time in 2020.
