On Tuesday, July 11th the PBR Illinois team hosted the Northwest Suburban Open at Wintrust Field in Schaumburg, IL. This open event was for all high school classes (2024-27), and gave our staff a chance to get a look at 50+ uncommitted prospects.

OF Alex Babich (Maine South) and INF Ryan Lazewski (Fenwick) are two 2025 left-handed hitters that just missed the cut of the Top-10 listed below. Babich has a well-proportioned frame, easy clean swing and middle of the field approach. Lazewski has a long, athletic frame and fluid swing tailored for lifted contact.

INF Sam Nigro (New Trier; Colby College) is an incoming senior to know from the event. He has a relaxed, confident look and swings with controlled aggression. He also ran a 7.31 60 and was 83 mph across the infield.
