On Sunday, March 15, the PBR Wisconsin team hosted its final showcase on its winter calendar, the Madison Preseason I.D., at GRB Academy in Windsor, Wis. In the days following the event, we published rapid analysis on the day’s top performers inside our Quick Hits and Statistical Analysis posts.

This week already, we’ve broken down the event’s catchers, outfielders, as well as the infielders by class: from 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Today, we’re breaking down the 100-plus arms in their entirety.

The juniors in attendance were led by a pair of right-handers that leapt way up  Wisconsin’s Class of 2021 Rankings with their impactful performances in Madison: Bryce Leedle (Markesan) and Jason Starr (Sun Prairie), both of whom are still uncommitted. Leedle is a talented, athletic righty with a live arm and a breaking ball and changeup that he throws with confidence and feel. Starr is still developing his offspeed feel, but he, too, brings with him some serious arm strength.

This is a particularly revealing set of 2022s, too. While we were well aware of Mason Buss (Arrowhead), this showcase helped us learn the names of new high-follows LHP Taylor Kilps (Whitnall) and Carson Klaus (Adams-Friendship). And the top-10 below doesn’t justify how deep the sophomore talent ran at this event.

Freshman Dylan Questad (Waterford) is a Notre Dame commit already and possesses some premium arm strength inside this class. Wauwatosa East RHP Evan Shapiro is a highly projectable righty with a big fastball and advanced feel for his offspeed. These two are already among the best in the state’s 2023 class and we’re eager to see them in live action soon.

TOP 2021 PITCHERS

1. Bryce Leedle, Markesan (WI), 2021
Positional Profile: RHP/SS; A premium uncommitted junior to know in-state.
Body: 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. Athletic, lean frame. Wiry strength throughout build.
Delivery: Square/staggered start, simple side step to level knee, athletic balance point. Shoulders go uphill at separation, leg swings out to squared landing, toe pointed to target. Low effort with athletic finish.

2. Jason Starr, Sun Prairie (WI), 2021
Positional Profile: RHP; A rising junior to know in the state's 2021 class.

Delivery: Tall/squared start from the left of the rubber; slow rock to high knee, athletic balance point. Drops and drive with shoulders slightly closed and level, easy landing in squared position, toe closed; easy effort.
