Scout Day: St. Louis Gamers - 2022-2023 Infield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 18 at All-Star Performance in St. Louis, Missouri. Nearly sixty players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.

Infielders
David Broughton SS / RHP / St. John Vianney, MO / 2023Broughton is a 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri's 2023 class. He ran a 4.61 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a tall set up, controlled high leg kick, lands slightly closed, aggressive bat speed level through the zone. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, footwork creates momentum through the catch, arm works, mostly accurate throws, 72 mph positional velocity. |
Landen Cella RHP / 3B / Westminster , MO / 2022Cella is a 5-foot-9 185-pound right handed hitting third baseman in Missouri's 2022 class. He ran a 4.55 home to first and has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, hands separate from stride, smooth load, accelerated hands, quick bat speed, stays under control. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, fluid footwork with momentum after the catch, clean transfer, fields the ball in athletic position, 75 mph positional velocity. |
Max Eastman C / 3B / Ladue, MO / 2023Eastman is a 5-foot-10, 215-pound, switch hitting corner infielder in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 4.63 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. During batting practice, Eastman showed similar loads from both the right and left sides, minimal and in line strides, quick hands, extension through baseball, solid contact during round. On the infield, Eastman showed clean transfers, momentum towards target, momentum towards target, clean arm action, positional velo of 67 mph, accurate throws. |
Michael Larson RHP / 3B / O'Fallon, IL / 2022Larson is a long and lean 6-foot-2 152-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Illinois' 2022 class. He ran a 4.78 home to first and has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, hands load with stride, in line stride, middle of the field approach, level bat path. On the infield, quick to the ball with footwork, quick catch and throw, loose over the top arm slot with long arm circle, accurate throws, 80 mph positional velocity, projection in build. |
Tyler Macon SS / OF / Kirkwood , MO / 2023Macon is an athletic and raw 5-foot-5, 130- pound, middle infielder in Missouri’s 2023 class. At the event, he ran a 4.72 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 76 mph. During hitting evaluations, starts in an open stance, abbreviated leg lift into load position, slightly closed off stride, loose and quick hands, showed some feel for the barrel. Defensively, Macon has good actions, shows off his athleticism on the field, fluid footwork, clean arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 73 mph, very accurate throws. |
Kyle McConachie OF / SS / Columbia, IL / 2022McConachie is a 5-foot-7 135-pound right-handed hitter in Illinois' 2022 class. He ran a 4.60 home to first and has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, slightly open, no wasted movement in load, quiet hands, in line stride, swing produced mostly middle to pull side contact. Carson Ohland C / 3B / Lafayette, MO / 2023Ohland is a 5-foot-10, 140-pound, switch hitting corner infielder in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 4.31 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. During batting practice, from both sides Ohland showed simple knee pinch loads, loose hands, repeatable swings, good extension with hard contact. On the infield, smooth actions, quick transfer to release, momentum towards target, positional velo of 73 mph, accurate throws. Ohland’s raw ability, good actions and athleticism make him a prospect to follow as he continues to develop. |
Joe Siervo SS / 2B / Parkway Central, MO / 2022Siervo is a 5-foot-10, 50-pound, right-handed hitting middle infielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.31 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 83 mph. During hitting evaluations, Siervo starts in an upright and open stance, leg lift into load position, in line stride, rhythm with hands, level bat path, repeatable swing, showed pull contact during round. Defensively, Siervo has fluid footwork, moves well laterally, clean transfers, long arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 78 mph, accurate throws. |
Ryan Stevens SS / OF / Christian Brothers College, MO / 2023Stevens is a 5-foot-6 130-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri's 2023 class. He ran a 4.57 home to first and has a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a wide base, loads with weight shift against back side, quiet hands, loose hands, level and quick bat path, gap to gap line drives.
