In late May, PBR VA/DC hosted the Pre-Summer Trials at Virginia Sports Complex, featuring over 60 players from all corners of our coverage area. Over the next week, we will post the scouting reports on that event as we add them to each player's profile. We started with the pitchers, Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Here is the first half of the outfielders, in alphabetical order: 

Jon Alderman, Chantilly, 2017
Alderman hits from a balanced, athletic stance. He has a smooth load, short stride, and a quick bat. He shows a high elbow, level bat path that ends in a top hand off finish. He had an exit velocity off 79. From the outfield, Alderman showed good footwork on throws that came from a long loose arm action. He had fluid exchanges on throws and showed a positional velocity of 74.

Ryan Aruanno, Massaponax, 2018
He hits from a slight crouch with a short toe tap load and a wide stance. Hitting off his back side, he has a line drive approach. He showed an exit velocity of 76. Defensively, Aruanno displayed a long arm action that resulted in a positional velocity of 73. He has a short transfer and compact footwork that gets it out of the glove quickly.      

Chris Brubaker, Fairfax, 2017
Brubaker hits from a wide stance, rock back load. He has short to contact and long to finish approach. He has a strong lower half that results in hard line drives at an exit velocity of 87. From the outfield, he has a corner outfield build with an average transfer and a strong arm resulting in a positional velocity of 81. 

Matt Brubaker, Fairfax, 2017
Brubaker hits from an athletic and balanced stance. He sits down slightly on the back leg but transfers through to front side in his finish. He has a short, quick swing ending in a low finish. Brubaker showed good pop and an exit velocity of 86. Defensively, Brubaker flows through the baseball nicely from the outfield. He showed a quick transfer and a short arm action. His peak velocity on throws was 79. 

Patrick Burke, Loudoun County, 2017
Burke hits from a wide, preloaded stance. He has a low elbow start, is short to the baseball, and ends in a long, uphill finish. He showed good bat speed and power with an exit velocity of 89. Defensively, Burke threw 86 from the outfield out of a long arm action. His footwork was smooth and he covered a lot of ground in his transfer. After release, he stayed in line to target. 

Luke Burner, Highland School, 2019
Burner hits from a balanced and athletic stance from the left side. He has a smooth load back and short stride. A long bat path, Burke is a rhythm hitter with a rocking preload motion. He has a strong stocky build and exit velocity of 76. In the outfield, Burner showed a long and low three quarter arm action and a velocity of 78. His shuffle footwork is short and the transfer smooth. 

Colton Cliborne, Dinwiddie, 2018
Cliborne showed good hands in his swing and was short to the ball. He has a smooth load with good balance. His bat speed resulted in an exit velocity of 77. He is a fluid, line drive hitter who occasionally over rotates in his finish. Defensively, Cliborne showed soft hands and a long, loose arm action. His long and lean build and over the top arm slot resulted in a positional velocity of 80.

Jack Darden, Smithfield, 2017
At 6’2, 220 Darden is a strong powerful kid with fast, explosive bat speed. He has gap to gap power in his swing and an exit velocity of 101. He really utilizes his lower half and strength through the baseball when he hits. Defensively, Darden is a corner outfielder with a strong arm. He showed a positional velocity of 83 while working through stiff transfer. His throws showed good carry from a long arm action.

Michael Fyvie, Patriot, 2018
Fyvie stands 6’0, 165 and has a slender build. He hits from a balanced, athletic stance.  His bat path is short and lever, and showed above average hand speed. He has a short stride with a slight leg kick. His exit velocity was 82. From the outfield, Fyvie has average hands and a long exchange. He throws from a three quarter arm action and showed a positional velocity of 76. He showed good accuracy on throws helped out by a smooth and clean exchange.

Jacob Han, G.C. Marshall, 2017
Han hits from a slightly open and crouched stance. He has good balance in his short swing and showed a good approach to all fields in his BP. His strong lower half projects well as a line drive, gap hitter. His exit velocity was 77. Defensively, Han displayed a long and loose arm action out of a high three quarter arm slot. He showed good accuracy on throws and a quick, clean transfer and footwork. His positional velocity was 79.

Hunter Hoopes, W.T. Woodson, 2018
He hits from a wide stance with bent knees. His hands are back in stance and load with a slight front arm bar. He showed an exit velocity of 73 out of a long one handed finish.  From the outfield, Hoopes showed a plus arm at a positional velocity of 87. The ball came out quick and had carry and life as he played through it attacking the ball aggressively.
