Jefferson Forest Righthander, Dylan Kramer had a tough assignment on the mound on this rainy afternoon. LCA's lead-off man Kyle Horton (Charleston Southern) wasted no time, blasting a single up the middle. Quade Tomlin reached on an error, and Wesley Clarke (South Carolina) took a four pitch walk to load the bases. Jacob Williams's sacrifice fly was long enough to score Horton, and RBI's by Emmanuel Johnson and Pell Collins vaulted the visitors to a three-run advantage.
In the bottom of the frame, Jackson Cherry ripped a single up the middle, and moved to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Hunter Morrison's one out sacrifice fly scored Cherry, getting the Cav's on the scoreboard.
In the top of the second, Horton's one out single and walks to Tomlin, Clarke, and Williams had Kramer in trouble. Collins's would double to the left field gap clearing the bases and the visitors were staked to a six-run lead
Luke Fowler walked to open the third, and it was Kramer who doubled scoring Fowler, but is was too little, too late.
The Bulldogs scored again in the third when Horton took a one out walk and Clarke collected his first hit of the game. Williams drew a walk to load the bases and Johnson tripled down the right field line, clearing the bases.
In the fifth, Clarke hit a lofty home run to dead center field, and Williams worked a one out walk. Collins doubled, for the second time today, scoring Williams going into the bottom of the inning. In the home fifth, Hunter Morrison reached on an error and Ben Holley doubled in Morrison, bringing the score of 12-4.
Clarke topped off his day with his second home run of the game, a majestic solo shot landing in the lacrosse field in left center field. The 12-4 victory keeps LCA perfect at 11-0
