17U

5 STAR VIRGINIA BLACK

Kyle Flora OF / 2B / Landstown, VA / 2025

From 8/8/23: “This one continues to grow on me. Slightly undersized, doesn’t have loud tools, but always seems to produce. 5-foot-10, 165-pound narrow frame. Flora has continued to produce sub 6.8 60’s, with his best coming at the 5-Star Scout Day where he ran a laser timed 6.62. He has the footspeed to stay in center and is probably best suited for left/center. The hit tool is pretty solid. Bat to ball, doesn’t swing and miss much, and just has a knack for being on barrel. Lower leg lift and hangs in his lift, but stays over his back side and doesn’t tend to drift into his stride. Compact swing with solid extension through contact and has shown some adjustability in the swing. In BP Flora had some of the best average batted ball distance for Team Mid-Atlantic. While it isn’t a high exit velo, raw power type of profile, he consistently barrels line drives and doubles in both gaps and is not afraid to use the whole field. Had a double to deep left field in game two, as well as an RBI single in game one.”

Jack Curtis RHP / 3B / Chenango Forks, NY / 2026

From 7/26/23:

Physical: Durable, stocky 6-foot, 187-pound frame. 7.48 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Spread, slightly open stance, as the hands bounce off the shoulder. Utilized a short leg-kick stride to initiate his swing through a quick, uphill path into the hitting zone. Plenty of barrel-whip available to the LCF gap, able to tuck inside if needed for a T92MPH EV. Generated a 50% line-drive rate during his round, up to an estimated 312FT.
Defensively: Primary 3B played low beneath the ball, chopping the feet with a soft glove-hand. Swift one-two and release after the transfer, grabbing an 85MPH throwing arm across the INF. Made all the plays and changed slots on the move.
Pitching: RHP. Works out of a fast-paced, compact delivery. Electric arm-speed at H ¾ with whiffs to both LH/RH batters. Held an 85-86MPH FB ITZ for Ks and went to a high spin mid-70’s CB/SL combo as the putaway. Only faced 4 hitters before retiring them all in 3 minute’s time.

MID-ATLANTIC ORIOLES

Jett Bristow OF / Collegiate, VA / 2025

From 8/11/23: “Bristow was the epitome of what makes the Future Games so special as his hard work and preparation matched up with the opportunity to perform in front of nearly 400 coaches and scouts in delivering a special performance. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound physical athlete imposed his will on the baseball with upwards of an event-best 106 mph exit velocity in showcasing some of the best raw power along with electric hands and a thunderous barrel. Working uphill with the barrel with lower set hands, his twitch turned the barrel with impressive speed, and the electric athleticism allowed him to sprint to a 6.9 60-yard dash time before unleashing throws up to 94 mph from the outfield. Coming off a brilliant, power-driven performance the week prior at PBR Tournament’s National Championships at Lakepoint, Bristow put a stamp on a stellar summer with an all around performance at the Future Games.”

Cal Travers LHP / 1B / Mills Godwin, VA / 2025

From 11/4/23:
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Lean, proportional frame.

SL: 73-74 mph. Slider has short shape. T2009, 1995 average rpm.
CH: 73-76 mph. Changeup has gradual movement. T2290, 2016 average rpm.

PRIMETIME ACES

Noah Haught SS / RHP / Bishop O'Connell, VA / 2025

From 8/28/23: “5-foot-11, 150-pound thin frame. Haught jumped into a strong O'Connell lineup and proved himself, from start to finish. Gradually made moves up in the lineup, showcasing a solid hit tool with the ability to use the whole field. Had a chance to see him multiple times in the spring and summer. The value starts with the advanced defensive ability. Lateral range, throw on the run, and while the arm strength is average to slightly above, it is his quick release and accuracy across that allows the arm to play a tick up. Was easy to see the defensive ability, but the offense has come a long way as well. Contact, line drives, and occasional doubles at the plate and works it to both gaps. This is one to get eyes on early this fall.”

Jack Keane RHP / 1B / Washington-Liberty, VA / 2025

From 1/28/24:
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-4, 225-pounds. Strong, physical frame.
Delivery: Build up style delivery with some effort. Has a balanced setup.
Arm Action: RH. Short, quick arm action from H 3/4 slot.
FB: T86, 85-86 mph. Fastball is heavy with late life. T2182, 2053 average rpm.
CB: 68-71 mph. Curveball has tight break. T2375, 2223 average rpm.
CH: 76-77 mph. Changeup has gradual movement. T1717, 1676 average rpm.
ATH: 1.72 and 4.23 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 29.40 max vertical.

RICHMOND BRAVES PLATINUM

Jordan Regulski RHP / SS / Colonel Richardson, MD / 2025

From 8/4/23: “There’s plenty to be excited about from the long 6-foot-3, 160 pound lean righty. It’s a repeatable delivery from a three quarter slot with clean arm action and easy intent, showcasing the ability to fill up the zone with all three pitches. The fastball works in the upper 80’s, topping out at 89 with the ability to change eye levels and induce swing and miss at the top of the zone. Relatively low spin at an average of 2,000 rpm, the fastball does show plenty of ride through the zone, up to 20 inches of carry with the ability to work both sides of the plate. The ability to get ahead early in the count with the fastball at the knees proves to pay dividends, allowing the fastball to play at the top of the zone. Really liked the look of the breaker, showcasing bigger 11/5 shape that got up to 18 inches of sweep and induced consistent weak contact in the zone. The ability to tunnel the fastball and breaker is advanced which induced some uncomfortable swings both in and out of the zone. A changeup is also featured, killing the spin and living down at the knees that proved effective against left-handed hitters. It’s a raw, young arm that has jumped onto the scene this year that continues to trend in the positive direction. Look for velo to continue to rise with added strength to the frame, and as flexibility remains constant, this is an arm that looks to be at the top of the class for a long time.”

Jase Mitchell C / 1B / Cape Henlopen , MD / 2025

From 7/14/23: “Mitchell is a top-25 prospect in Maryland's 2025 class, and he is a premier backstop in the region. Standing at a lean and projectable 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, with a sweet left-handed stroke, there is plenty to like about Mitchell. He's shown well in front of our staff before with sub-2.00 pop times, mid-90s exit velocities, and impressive rotational acceleration metrics, per Blast. That continued throughout the tournament, and Mitchell repeatedly found the barrel and generated hard contact.”

Jake Wise RHP / Benedictine College Preparatory, VA / 2025

From 8/11/23: “Wise became the frontline arm for Benedictine, the perennial VISAA power, this past spring. Logged a ton of innings and wins in his first varsity season and saw a lot of success. Thirty six innings this summer and only one earned run, with fifty-seven strikeouts, and a .091 BAA. High slot arm, mid 80’s fastball that has been upwards of 87 mph, and has 20+” of carry. Throws three secondary pitches for strikes and has some potential starter makeup. There is intent to the delivery, but he showed the ability to maintain velo deeper into the game during his outings this spring. The secondary pitches are serviceable and are thrown for strikes, but are not currently true out pitches. The pitchability is there and he will continue to get better as he adds polish to the secondary.”

Max Lawson SS / Briar Woods , VA / 2025

From 8/28/23: “Lawson had a big spring at Briar Woods as the highlight of the offensive lineup. The bat carries the weight for this infielder. Swing has some uphill path, gap to gap carry, and a little extra juice to the pull side. Slightly above average hand speed at the plate and a whippy barrel that has some length through the zone. Above average arm strength from the left side and an average run tool. Has a chance to be an impact bat with some sneaky power.”

Gavin Angelillo C / RHP / NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY, VA / 2025

From 8/7/23: “Solid 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. Angelillo stands out best behind the plate where he shows above average receiving skills with above average arm strength. It is a lower exchange and hand break which can lengthen the arm circle just a touch, but the arm strength makes up for it a touch. In the box, the Nansemond-Suffolk product starts with a slightly closed setup and strides in closing off a bit more. He has above average hand speed and bat speed and muscles the barrel through with pull side strength. There can be some length to the swing at times and shows some pull side tendency. More of a power, run production type of bat that just needs to get to that power more frequently in game.”

TIDEWATER PHILLIES

Wes Stubbe C / 3B / First Colonial, VA / 2025

From 2/10/24:
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-11, 185-pounds. Lean, proportional frame.
Hit: RHH. Active, slightly open setup. Short, slightly uphill barrel path. 70.6 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.

Defense: 2.10-2.24 pop times. Natural hands, with clean exchanges.
ATH: 27.10 max vertical.

Nic Morlang RHP / OF / First Colonial, VA / 2025

From 8/28/23: “The 6-foot-3 right hander saw his stock soar after a late summer scout day in 2022. He has continued to add to the projectable frame. Velo continues to tick up, the arm works, and fills the zone with three pitches. Is one of the best remaining uncommitted 2025 arms that with his physical makeup, pitchability, and repertoire, offers some starter profile.”

Trey Campos OF / RHP / Landstown , VA / 2025

From 8/8/23: “The now JMU commit exudes athleticism and a certain swagger to his game. Lean 6-foot, 175-pound frame with two way ability, with probably more arm first profile right now. Slower paced build up on the mound and plenty of arm speed and intent from a low three-quarter arm slot. While the mid-upper 80’s fastball possesses well above average spin rate, it plays better as a sinker down in the zone. The slider sits in the mid 70’s with anywhere from 5”-12” of horizontal break and is his best out pitch. Has a serviceable changeup that he can throw strikes with and is more of a straight change. Positionally, Campos is an above average runner. He has turned out consistent sub 6.9 times, getting as low as 6.75 during Future Games. He has the footspeed and arm strength to offer some versatility in where he can play in the outfield. Pretty relaxed setup at the plate with slight uphill path to the swing. Slightly above average bat speed and doubles power in both gaps. The swing has some length at times and he is at his best when he shortens up a bit and stays simpler with the approach.”

Austin Crew OF / OF / Ocean Lakes, VA / 2025

From 11/4/23:
Positional Profile: OF/OF
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Wiry, athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Active, slightly open setup. Quick, slightly uphill barrel path. 73.2 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 98 max exit velocity, averaged 90.9 mph. 349' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-84 mph. Long, whippy arm action.
Defense: Natural hands, with athletic footwork.
ATH: 6.81 runner in the 60.

Conner Worth SS / SS / Cox, VA / 2025

From 8/29/23: “Making a jump inside the Top 50 is the 5-foot-11, 170-pound athletic framed infielder. The offense really made some strides this year and he showed particularly well this summer in the few looks our staff got. Above average bat speed, uses the whole field, and shows doubles power to both gaps. Hands stay tight and stays inside at contact, while efficiently using the backside of the field. Active defender that does a nice job creating angles to work through the catch into the throw. Hands work and shows the ability to stay in the dirt. JMU commit.”

VA SEMINOLES

Jackson Toole 3B / OF / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

From 8/11/23: “The Glen Allen product was the first member of Team Mid-Atlantic to make his commitment since the recruiting period opened, announcing his commitment to Longwood. Right handed hitter that projects defensively to fit in left field/first base long term. Contact bat, doubles power, and does not swing and miss much. Toole is aggressive early in counts and has a solid bat to ball ability. He could benefit from pitch selection and zone discipline when it comes to swing decisions. This would help his quality of contact and ability to impact the baseball when he is aggressive early in counts. Hit tool type of bat that when the swing decisions get tightened up, he can tap into some of the power a little more frequently.”

Levi Jones C / OF / Glen Allen High School, VA / 2026

ATH: 1.75 and 3.98 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 32.50 max vertical.

VIRGINIA CARDINALS

Easton Ogle SS / RHP / Benedictine, VA / 2025

From 3/13/23: “Only a few at bats on the day and a few innings in the field, but left impressed by the sophomore. Ogle is a high motor, high intensity player. You are gonna be hard pressed to not get a good run time on him out of the box because he gets out of the box well. Had a double into left field in his first at bat where he turned on an inner half fastball and yanked it down the line. Had a 4.67 turn on the double and although he is an average watch runner, he plays a touch quicker in game. Ogle just gives off that feeling that he is going to get after it every single pitch/play and that the switch is on all of the time.”

KEYSTONE STATE BOMBERS AMERICAN

Ethan Grim RHP / 3B / Governor Mifflin , PA / 2025

2025 CADETS

Nate Hawton-Henley OF / SS / St. John's, VA / 2025

From 3/20/24: “Hawton-Henley is a Maryland commit. Athletic frame, kid is a twitchy athlete with some real footspeed and as he runs. Hits from a relaxed open stance, short very very quick swing, bat is moving and gives him more reaction time, hands are a big part of that for him. Mostly level line drive swing, prefers and up the middle approach and can hammer balls into the gaps with some power. Also can use the whole field, preference is to put it in play and use his speed as a weapon.”

Ren Devereux RHP / 1B / St John's College, VA / 2025

From 8/7/23: “Devereux got the start in the opener versus Florida. The right hander stands at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds and works from a low three-quarter arm slot. There is early hand separation in the delivery and some late intent/violence at times. The fastball worked in the 85-87 range and touched 88 on occasion. Plenty of arm side run on the fastball, with upwards of 21” of run on the pitch. The breaking ball also had its fair share of horizontal movement, getting an average of 15” of break and a max of 21.2” of HM. The low-mid 70’s breaker is the definite out pitch for Devereux, although he does show a split-change that he can kill spin on and land for strikes at an average rate. I have seen Devereux multiple times this year and this was the most scattered I have seen him, as he usually fills the zone up fairly well. I feel like he was incorporating too much intent on his move to the plate and was opening up a bit quick, leaving the arm behind and causing some arm side misses. Earlier in counts he seemed to be much more in line and in sync.”

CANES OHIO GOLD

Brady Borton OF / RHP / Defiance, OH / 2025

From 2/4/24: “Starts in a balanced strong stance with a quick load, then uses a small leg kick. Had quick bat speed, simple upward swing plane and high finish. Solid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 84 mph; has soft hands, quick feet, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot.”

Braxton Mefferd OF / RHP / Perrysburg , OH / 2025

From 2/4/24: “Started in an athletic quiet stance with a compact load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed a simple upward swing plane and high finish. Solid when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 91 mph;had a natural exchange, quick footwork, and sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. On the mound, had quick arm speed and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1943; Avg 1836). Threw a 11/5 curveball with gradual action. (Max spin 2107; Avg 1994). His 10/4 slider had late action. (Max spin 2057; Avg 1998).”

Cody Shaw C / RHP / Defiance, OH / 2025

From 2/4/24: “Began in a balanced athletic stance with a compact load, then used a controlled leg kick. Has a simple uphill swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Behind the plate, he made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 82 mph; showed a natural transfer, consistent hands, and quick feet. showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.95-2.00. Some flexibility and quiet setup. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. On the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action with some arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 1938; Avg 1841). His 11/5 curveball had some action. (Max spin 1990; Avg 1893).”

MPH DRAGUM

TJ Woodson SS / RHP / Hanover , VA / 2025

From 8/1/23: “The Hanover shortstop had an outstanding week. He showed the world what we already knew. Very high end defender that is as consistent picking it as anyone you will find. Made a big league type of play on a side spin, capped ball from a left hander while at third base. Went to the line, backhanded it, and turned to throw out a good runner at first all in one motion. It is effortless and there are innate instincts to his defense that you simply cannot teach. The arm is average to slightly above average, but the internal clock is there and he has an advanced feel for the position that allow him to make any and every play. The offense is average, but the bat to ball and plate discipline are solid. Will ambush early in counts and that is when he is at his best in terms of quality of contact, but has the ability to work counts and turn negative counts into quality at bats. Ran a personal best 6.88 on the workout day. Getting out of the box he is a slightly above average runner, turning out multiple 4.12-4.18 home to first times, but it is when he is on the bases that he plays a tick faster. Times arms up, gets exceptional jumps, and picks the right spots to run. Cannot say enough about the IQ and instinctiveness that he plays the game with. Leader, but does it by example and not as much verbally.”

Michael Williams RHP / SS / Cosby, VA / 2025

From 8/28/23: “Williams' stock is soaring just as high as any other '25 in the state. Mid 80's fastball that has been up to 87 in front of our staff. His long, athletic 6-foot-2 frame has plenty of projection left and leaves much to dream on in terms of future. While Williams has shown some two-way potential, it is the mound that carries his future value. Flashes some command to the glove side and ability to spin for strikes. Will be one to keep a close eye on as the recruitment continues to heat up."

Noah Yoder RHP / 1B / Atlee, VA / 2025

From 4/5/24: “Yoder is a Duke commit and this was the second time I have seen him live, both in the last month. I thought he looked pretty good in this outing. He was a bit scattered early but fought through it and really settled in during innings 3-5, when he was pretty dominant. Very tall, long lanky frame. Extreme drop and drive delivery, really gets into his hips and powers down the mound. Shorter arm action from a tick above three-quarters in his slot. Quick arm, ball jumps out of hand. Fastball was 91-93 in the first and held 91-92 in the second. Honestly his stuff was at its best overall when he was in the 88-91 range in the third through fifth innings. He as locating fastballs in the zone and found his curveball in those innings. Curveball was 77-79 early and more around 77 late. Shape varies, has more 10/4 to it and is sharper when he buries down and away as a finisher. More 11/5 when he is trying to drop it into the strike zone. Got a ton of swing and misses.”

Zachary Zelazny SS / 3B / Patrick Henry (Ashland), VA / 2025

From 8/7/23: “5-foot-11, 175-pound athletic frame with proportional strength. Zelazny is an athletic infielder with some positional versatility. Listed at shortstop and maybe more suited long term for 3B/2B/LF. Slightly above average runner with some pull side juice in the bat. Slightly above average bat speed and rotates well. The swing is short and compact with a barrel that is in and out of the zone quick. Lift and carry to the pull side and that is where he does most of his power damage, but has some power potential in the middle as well. Short quick arm across the infield with above average arm strength and showed some carry on throws. Probably an offense first profile, but more than adequate defender. The bat has some definite power potential and Zelazny does not get cheated at the plate.”

Bryce Neely OF / SS / St. Christophers, VA / 2025

From 8/4/23: “It did not take long for the tooled out outfielder to come off the board after Future Games, committing to Virginia. Elite run tool, posting a 6.45 60 time on workout day. It seems to take a second for Neely to get up to speed. His 60 time was third overall, 30 time was tied for seventh, and did not get into the Top 10 of 10 yard splits. The top end speed will help him close on balls in the outfield, but if he can tap into his acceleration a bit more, he could turn into a big time base stealing threat as well. There is enough arm to play all three outfield positions, but slots best in left and center for now. There is real juice in the bat and if he can start to tap into that more consistently in game, this is a guy that has the tools to be a first two days draft pick down the road.”

ON DECK O'S

Jake Barbee SS / RHP / Robinson, NC / 2025

From 7/18/23: “Long, lanky frame at 6-foot-2, 172-pounds. Balanced in the box, barrel is flat through the zone with strength and quickness in his hands. Showed the ability to use the whole field hitting multiple balls off the barrel during the week. Relaxed hands with arms strength across the diamond.”

PITTSBURGH SPIKES

Mavrik Clement SS / OF / Butler, PA / 2026

Physical: 5-11, 160 pounds; Slight, Lean build. 7.38 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Extended take back of the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are underneath the body while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH.

Brady Hull 1B / OF / EDEN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, PA / 2026

From 7/15/23: “One of the state’s hottest bats with home runs at both #PAStateGames and a #PBRVA tournament, Hull imparts torque on the handle for an upper-90’s exit velocity. The uber-physical 6-foot-1, 210-pounder owns a barrel-chested frame and doesn’t miss the FB in early counts. Going to be a young bat to follow at Lakepoint with ability to leave the yard on any pitch. Creates a big load window that plays similarly to MLB power hitters, i.e. Aaron Judge. Shows enough feel to defend at a corner at the next level with solid footwork.”

Matthew Robaugh SS / 2B / Trinity SHS, PA / 2025

From 5/16/23: “We were enamored with the pace of play defensively and feel for internal clock at #NEProcase, operating under 4.00 sec at times. Next-level strong type of arm at 89MPH on the dirt with EV's up into the 100MPH range. Young in terms of baseball development, extra in the tank.”

The arm strength is there, the arm strength will continue to get better. He’s a mid 90s exit velo guy… The swing is pure, the swing is pretty. He works to all sides of the field, he can really do damage to both gaps.”
