On September 30th, Tennessee hosted the Fall Prospect Games.  This event included a position player workout, followed by a 10-inning game where each pitcher threw 2 innings. Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff and college coaches in attendance. The following is a look at the top statistical performances from the event.

TOP PITCHING VELOCITIES 

84 – Bricen Russell, SS/RHP, Summit, 2019
83 – Ben Callahan, RHP, Ravenwood, 2019
83 – Conner Hubler, 1B/RHP, Hardin Valley Academy, 2019
83 – Preston Shelton, SS/RHP, Marshall County, 2020
82 – Tyler Meyers, 2B/RHP, Bearden, 2019 

- Russell showed off his intriguing 2-way talent on this day, also leading in IF velocity.  The 6’2, 170-pounder showed a long and lanky, super projectable frame while striking out 1 in his 2 innings of works.  He mixed in 67-70 CB and 77 CH.

TOP EXIT VELOCITIES

86 – Conner Hubler, 1B/RHP, Hardin Valley Academy, 2019
85 – Mason Everett, 3B, Wilson Central, 2020
84 – Jack Smith, C, Houston, 2020

- Hubler had a strong all-around day and led the event for the exit velocity.  The athletic corner infielder saw his name pop up on many of these leaderboards and showed an intriguing all-around tool-set.  He jumped out in BP for the bat speed he showed in hitting hard line drives gap to gap.

TOP OF VELOCITIES 

78 – Peyton Graves, OF, Marshall County, 2021
78 – Connor Jurek, OF, CAK, 2021
75 – Drew Porter, OF, Friendship Christian, 2021

- Three 2021’s find their way on the scoreboard, with two tied at the very top.  Graves showed a slap oriented approach offensively w/ some barrel feel and arm strength to play anywhere in the OF.  Jurek had one of the louder batting practices of the day, as the ball jumped off his barrel w/ easy back-spin gap to gap to go with the arm strength in the OF.

TOP IF VELOCITIES 

83 – Bricen Russell, SS/RHP, Summit, 2019
81 – Preston Shelton, SS/RHP, Marshall County, 2020

- Shelton was just behind Russell on both IF and pitching velocities.  The middle infielder shows soft hands and arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield while featuring some projection in his 5’10, 185-pound frame.

TOP C POP TIMES 

1.84-1.94 – Jack Smith, C, Houston, 2020
1.88-2.09 – Gates Shoemaker, C, Baylor, 2021
1.90-2.00 – Isaac Warta, C, Knights Academy, 2019

- Smith, a Future Games attendee, led the way with both his top pop time and the consistency of his throws.  A premium defensive player, Smith shows a quick release w/ carry to target arm strength.  He also stands out as a receiver, featuring soft hands and a big low target.

TOP HOME TO FIRST TIMES

4.44 – Brett Bell, SS, Spring Hill, 2020
4.46 – Tyler Meyers, 2B/RHP, Bearden, 2019

- Bell led the way for the speedsters and that speed translates all over the field, running a 4.44 from the left side.  The athletic middle infielder shows ability to play anywhere on the diamond and features the ability to pepper all fields w/ line drives.
