FL JUCO: Top 50 Prospects
November 13, 2018
This Fall, PBR Florida put Junior College baseball at the forefront of their coverage. From the JUCO Twin Classic to the West Florida JUCO Bonanza to Sophomore All-Star Weekend and everything inbetween, PBR Florida was there. All of our notes and video can be found here, in the Florida JUCO Scout Blog.
No stoned was left unturned in this process. Videos, notes and reports were collected and compiled throughout the fall season. Of the 50 prospects listed here, all 50 were seen at least one time this fall, with many receiving multiple views.
Last week, the Hotlist provided a sneak peek into the top 10 Junior College prospects nationally. It should come as no surprise that the top 5 here are reflective of that list. Northwest Florida State RHP Thomas Farr (South Carolina commit) holds the No. 1 spot. Farr has been up to 96 this fall and showed a three-pitch feel. Coming in at No. 2 is the athletic RHP Hunter Perdue (Florida State) out of State College of Florida. Perdue continues to trend up, running his fastball up to 95, and has made great strides in improving his mechanics over the past year. Rounding out the top 3 is another big right-handed arm, Pensacola State's Chad Bryant. Bryant has a strong, stocky frame at 6-foot, 200-pounds, utilizing it well while topping out at 96.
*It should be noted, RHP Carter Stewart has been omitted from the list. At the time of writing, Stewart had not yet registered for classes at Eastern Florida State.
