The PBRT 17U Florida Summer Championships continued July 2nd and 3rd at IMG Academy in Bradenton with action from the 17U divisions. The event is four days long with champions decided on Sunday. Each day we will highlight standouts with a daily scout blog. Take a look at Day 3 and 4's notes.

Daniel Cepeda 1B / Coral Park, FL / 2024Lengthy, athletic frame. Active in box w/ zone awareness. Compact, short swing w/ quick/loose hands. Swung the bat well this week.

Matthew Demetree RHP / 3B / Lake Mary, FL / 2023Demetree got the start for the Scorpions in the 17U Championship. He went through 4 scoreless innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 strikeout, running the fastball up to 85 mph.

Eric Entrekin 3B / Lake Brantley, FL / 2023Lean, athletic frame. Quick, compact swing/on time. Entrekin gets on plane well. Line drive hitter.

Bryce Habuda 2B / Canterbury, FL / 2023Lean figure w/ athleticism. Fluid, compact actions, quick hands. Solid zone presence/situational awareness.

Lean, length frame w/ athleticism. Quick hands, in rhythm. Level plane w/compact swing.

Logan Hughes 1B / OF / Winter Springs, FL / 2023Stetson recruit. Hughes continues to find barrels. Hitterish actions, barrel stays in zone w/ bat speed.

Deiten Lachance C / 3B / Le triolet, QC / 2023Lachance did everything this weekend for ABC. Homers, doubles, and plenty of RBI. The strong catcher showed arm strength and athleticism behind the plate. An uncommitted 2023 that is a high follow player.

Loic Masse C / 2B / Pointe Levy, QC / 2023Lean, athletic LHH. Controlled load, compact swing w/ quick hands. Massé continues to see the ball well/be adjustable at the plate. Fluid/compact, repeatable swing.

Justin Mayes LHP / 1B / Calvary Christian , FL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 189 / POS: 27
Physical LHH with present bat speed. Hands work loose & quick to the ball. On the mound, showed a quick arm up to 89 mph. Clean arm action. Command was a bit spotty but there’s a lot to like in the arm. Uncommitted. FB: 84-88 T89CB: 72

Athletic frame, balanced setup. Quick hands, loose swing/works under control. On the mound showed long, loose arm action. Solid 2- way player.

Evan Miller RHP / Seabreeze, FL / 2023Miller was dominant in the quarterfinals for the Scorpions. 5 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts to help his team advance. Not overpowering, but generated weak contact and consistently got outs.

6-foot-5, 190 pounds. Former Future Gamer for Carolinas. 5 K’s over 3.2 IP w/ FB/SL combo. Rabe competed in the zone forcing a lot of swing/miss w/ SL. Uncommitted. FB: 87-89 (2224)SL: 75-78

Ross Ray CF / North Marion High School, FL / 2023Large, advanced physical frame at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds. Strong base w/ compact swing . Strength in the swing with ability to drive the baseball.

Jake Richardson OF / Melbourne, FL / 2023Athlete. Big time standout from the 2021 State Games. Richardson continues to make strides. Looks the part, sub 6.6 runner. One of top ‘23 uncommitted OF in FL.

Anthony Schatz LHP / Lakeland Christian, FL / 2023Schatz started the semifinals for the Scorps in a 6-0 win. The southpaw sat in the mid 80s going 4 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts.

David Shontz Jr OF / RHP / East River, FL / 2023Sturdy, lean frame w/ athleticism. Clean, compact action/quick hands. Efficient mover, on time/in rhythm. Shontz Jr unloaded for a huge grand slam to help the Scorpions with the championship on Sunday.

USF recruit. Physical lefty bat w/ mature approach at the dish. Longer path w/ bat speed keeping hands staying inside. Finds barrels with juice off the bat.

Andrew Williamson OF / 1B / Northside Christian, FL / 2023UCF recruit. 2021 Future Gamer, covers a lot of ground in CF. Compact stroke from left side w/ athletic finish. Barrel covers a lot of zone w/ bat speed.
