Uncommitted Spotlight: '21 OF Austin Corbett

Brett Thorney
State Scouting Director

We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at 2021 OF Austin Corbert (Horizon).

Corbett is ranked No. 38 overall in the state of AZ; No. 3 among outfielders in the 2021 class. He last came to a PBR event back in June of 2019 where he put up a decent showing at our Top Prospect Games. He is slated to attend the invite only event again this summer. We had a chance to see Corbett during our short HS season coverage, playing for Horizon HS. From an athletic compact build, Corbett showed as an above average runner, tracking the ball down well in the OF. Arm might be able to keep him in CF at the next level. Starts in an athletic setup at the plate from an average squared stance. Loads hands straight back with a short compact swing. Takes a level/ slightly downward path to the baseball. Hit a hard back-spin LD deep to LF making it over the fence while we were there. He's a bit undersized to date but has the athleticism and packs a bigger punch. Should be followed this summer.
