Uncommitted Spotlight: '20 1B Tyler Stone
February 5, 2020
2020 Tyler Stone (Chaparral, AZ) was a standout at the the Preseason All-State Games at Arizona State a couple weeks back. He also participated in the #PBRFutureGames for Team Arizona in 2018. Stone's offensive ability as a left-handed hitting first basemen should be something to follow come spring. He displays natural pop from a controlled yet aggressive approach. Had an event high 97mph exit velo off the tee. In the games, he just missed some balls but has developed a reputation for hitting in game. His defensive skills seem to be underrated as he showed athleticism around the bag and saving some throws from across the INF with his glove skills. He also showed an 85mph across the diamond which you dont see often from the position. Stone should be monitored closely this spring. Could be a good pick-up for a JUCO program or a late add as D1 first basemen.
