Chaparral @ QUeen Creek 3/5/18
Jacob Berry, 1B/3B, 2020, Queen Creek HS
Arizona commit. One of the premier hitters in the state regardless of class. Clearly the best player on the field on this day. Possesses superior present strength. Advanced approach and pitch selection. Only was able to see him hit from left side on this day but has shown to be a true switch hitter in the past. Swing shows natural loft and the ability to drive the ball out of the park to all fields. Played 3B and even a couple innings at SS. Showed improved defensive mobility. Bat will play plenty if move to 1B is necessary.
Tyler Stone, 1B, 2020, Chaparral HS
Uncommitted. Simple, quiet approach with some present strength and ability to drive ball to all fields. Showed some looseness in wrists and feel for the barrel. Hits in middle of lineup for a perennial power as a sophomore. Interested to see more from this young hitter. Bat is carrying tool.
Mason Dillow, RHP, 2019, Chaparral HS
Uncommitted. Came on in relief and showed solid FB/CB combo. Ran his fastball up to 84 with some riding life. Longer inverted arm action with high elbow in back. Competed on the mound. Showed ability to spin tight curveball with depth. Can definitely pitch for someone at the next level.
