Scouting Report
02/23/18- The tools play up in game. Moves with athleticism and range at short. Quality lateral agility and enough range to stay there at the next level. Physical frame, with strength and athleticism combo. Swing works more freely from the left side and generated more bat speed. Turned around a fastball for a long home run from the left side.
1/27/18- Pittsburgh recruit. The 6-foot-2, 215 pound shortstop has put on quite a bit of muscle to a broad shoulder, athletic frame. It doesn’t appear to have hindered his agility though, as fe still shows a quick, athletic first step and above average all around defensive actions. He works to and through the ball with confidence and should have enough range to stick at short for a while. Offensively, the switch hitter is a bit more crouched with less of a load left handed. He uses his lower half well and trusts his hands. There is present bat speed, but could benefit from a bit more separation. Right-handed he stays a bit more upright and uses a toe tap load. He can get abit rotational but clears the backside well. Showed a little more power right handed, but both sides exit velocity was 92 mph
10/15/17- Pittsburgh recruit. Looks to have added to his frame recently and become more physical. The switch hitter looks to have focused on the left side and has a short, simple swing. There is little separation which can create some steepness at times. He has a strong lower half and present pull power. There is bat to ball skills, but would like to see more separation. Defensively, the added physicality may move him off of short in the future, but would be a well above average third baseman as he shows quality lateral movement and a strong, accurate arm
05/20/17-Pittsburgh recruit. A long, lean 6-foot-2, 190-pound shortstop looks to have put on about ten pounds since January. He shows shows easy actions at short and is a near plus defender. He has a quick first step, but covers a lot of ground with long easy stride. He shows an above average arm from all angles. He stays under control with soft hands and should stay at short going forward. Offensively, the switch hitter shows a bit more consistent, short swing from the left side. He has a feel for the barrel from both sides of the plate, with power potential. Overall, a a 2018 draft follow.
01/21/17- Pittsburgh commit. The athletic switch hitting 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop has shown a lot of potential. The switch hitter has really shown a feel for the barrell, especially from the left side. With a simple setup and load, he is short through the zone and shows gap-to-gap power. He sprayed line drives throughout batting practice and had multple quality at-bats during the game. He also showed above average defensive action. He has a feel for the position, bouncing around and always in the right place. He has above average hands and showed plenty of arm, topping at 88 mph to stay at short. He has the frame and tool as well as being a switch hitter to project at the next level.
8/26/16- Committed to the University of Pittsburgh.
07/22/16- Uncommitted the 6-foot-2 185 pound switch hitter was impressive on multiple occasions during the week. He has a projectable frame that will continue to fill out, confident smooth actions at shortstop with a good first step. At the plate there is good rhythm in the setup with a somewhat stiff load, but the swing is short and quick from the left side with present gap-to-gap power. Athletic, projectable, switch hitting middle infielder makes him very interesting.
