Top-10 Profiles of 2020: No. 7 Daniel Pacella
December 21, 2020
As the year starts to unwind, our staff will start to highlight the top-10 most viewed profiles from 2020 – starting at 10 and counting down.
One of the louder bats in the state’s junior class, our seventh most-viewed profile of 2020 is Mundelein's Daniel Pacella. Ranked No. 10 overall in Illinois’ 2022 class and No. 342 nationally, Pacella’s raw juice rivals most his age, maxing out at 101.5 mph during batting practice at a fall showcase, averaging 96.4 at that same event. We saw him tap into it in several different looks this summer as well and he’s comfortable working the entire field with it, enhancing that tool even more.
Pacella already has prodigious raw power, but there may even be more to come. He’s built at a somewhat slender, strong, 6-foot-3 and 225-pounds that can continue to tack muscle on as he gets older. He’s committed to Kentucky, where his profile could ultimately lead to a middle-of-the-order thumper for the Wildcats down the road.
