Scouting Report

8/01/20
6-foot, 175-pound catcher is a defensive guru behind the dish.  Advanced receiving and blocking w/ a great ability to steal low strikes and great plate presentation.  Strong arm and quick transitions, popped one of the best overall times during the FG showcase (1.92-2.01).  Very stealthy behind the plate with great target presentation.  Offensively, right-handed hitter w/ some room to go at the dish (Max Exit Velo: 88.5 mph via Trackman), but continues to improve and consistently provides good at bats.  Relaxed, upright stance w/ minor leg kick, generating solid bat speed with line drive/fly ball approach.  Larrea will continue to work to round out his game, but one of the best defensive backstops on the market with a history of handling elite pitching.
