Scouting Report
10.3.18
2019 3B Logan Kohler (Little Elm HS) is quickly moving up the Texas rankings, positioning himself as one of the top position players in the state. The Oklahoma commit stands 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, hitting from the left side of the plate, he has bat speed, rhythm and leverage that projects for even more power in the future. A natural athlete, he plays third base at a high level and will most likely stay there not only in college, but at the professional level. Good runner for a corner guy. Walked in his first two at-bats, then singled twice through the right side, driving in a run, then struck out in his last AB.
9.26.18
Kohler is moving up the Texas rankings fast as there is a natural athleticism on the infield to go with projectable strength from the left side of the plate. At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Kohler simply looks the part on the left side of the infield, even spending several innings at shortstop, although he is a primary third baseman. In three at-bats, Kohler popped up to third base, hit a sharp fly ball to centerfield, and struck out looking.
9.23.18
Ranked No. 19 in the Texas 2019 Class, Kohler can really pick it at third base, and has the arm strength to stay on the hot corner for years to come. He made two stellar plays in the same inning, ranging down the line to his glove side and gunning the ball across the diamond to first base. The left-handed bat stands out as much as his glove, with his 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame, Kohler generates simple leverage with rhythm, strength, and loose hands. Does a nice job of staying in the middle of the field with gap power, but there is certainly more in the tank as he continues to add strength.
Area Code Tryouts 2018
The Oklahoma commit stands 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, and possesses the type of actions and arm strength that should allow him to stay on the left side of the infield in college. A left-handed hitter, the bat already plays, with more upside still left in the tank as he continues to add strength. Kohler demolished a line drive right at the shortstop, and showed enough strength to single through the middle on a ball he got jammed on.
6.19.18
Oklahoma commit. Athletic and projectable 6-2, 180-pound frame. Kohler hammered a 92 mph exit velo off the tee. The power translated into BP, where he made loud contact from the left side of the plate. He hits from an open athletic stance with some bend in his knees and the bat resting on his shoulder. He loads his hands back to get separation and has a loose and quick barrel action through the hitting zone. Kohler has really strong hands and wrists that help him drive baseballs with just the flick of his wrists. He holds himself with confidence in the box and in the infield, and has fluid actions throughout his game. In the infield, he has soft hands and he plays himself into good hops with his footwork. He has a live arm with a quick release, and topped out at 82 mph across the diamond. Kohler ran a 7.45 laser-timed 60. Kohler has serious upside with his quick-twitch ability in his large frame, he is athletic, and plays the game hard.
