TEXAS, USA - In the first week of the Texas High School Baseball Playoffs, there were numerous performances that stood out. Here is a list of players nominated by their coaches for player of the week.
Brett Baty, 3B/RHP, Lake Travis HS, 2019
Texas commit. In a 1 Game Playoff vs. SA MacArthur, Baty was 1-2 Game Winner 2 run HR. 1 BB. Also got the W on the mound. 6 IP, 1 H, 7 K's, 0 ER

Threw a CG Shutout 12Ks 1hit vs La Joya Coyotes. Mendoza was also 3 for 6, 1 2B, 2 1B, BB, HBP, 3 RBIs, 5 Runs scored

Uncommitted, 7.0 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs, 9 K’c, 0 BB.
Reece Gould, RHP, LD Bell HS, 2018
6 innings 3 hits, 5 K’s, 0 bb’s, shut out! 10-1 on the year.
Jordan Olivera, 3B/RHP, The Colony HS, 2018
4-for-11, hit .364, Made several great plays on bunts at 3B. Earned a 3 inning save on the mound in game three to help seal the victory over Lonestar.
Wesley Gafford, RHP, Georgetown HS, 2018
Threw a 2 hit shutout against a really good Brenham line up. 6 innings 2 hits 3 k's. Made some big time pitches to get out of some jams.
Zach Poe Senior 1B/ 3B, Madisonville HS, 2018
Sam Houston State commit. In the Bi-district round, Poe was 5-for-5 w/ 4 doubles, 1 BB 2 runs scored 3 RBI in the sweep over Hillsboro drove in the only run of game 1.
Dylan Conde, RHP, LaPorte HS, 2019

Caden Hawkins, LHP, Midlothian HS, 2019
CG Shutout of Burleson Centennial in a 1 game playoff. 7 IP 0 R. 4H. 8 K’s 1 BB
Logan Kohler, 3B/RHP, Lake Dallas HS, 2019
Oklahoma commit. Went a complete game 1 hitter against Frisco Wakeland- 6.0 innings 1 h 0 BB 11 ks. Had a perfect game through 5 full innings. Gave up his first and only earned base runner in the bottom of the 6th.
Reese Miller, SS/RHP, Dayton HS, 2018
7 IP, 0 runs 3 hits 1 BB, 16 K. Reese threw a complete game shut out to defeat Nederland (22-5A champs) in the 1st round of the playoffs. Reese also got the hit to start the rally that scored the only run in the game. Dayton beat Nederland 1-0

4-5, 6 RBI, 3B, 2 HR, 8 K, 6 H, Win on mound with 4 ⅔ IP in a 13-6 win over Amarillo River Road
Parker DeLeon, SS, Pearland HS, 2018
5 for 7 with 2 triples, 7 RBI’s and 2 stolen bases. On the weekend he hit .714
Mason Lytle, OF, Pearland HS, 2019
5 for 8 with 1 double, 4 RBI’s and 2 stolen bases. On the weekend he hit .625
Caisen Clower, OF, Midlothian Heritage, 2019
2 Bi - District Games 4-6, with two walks, and two huge RBI in low scoring games.
Ray Hydes, Midlothian HS, 2019 went 7 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.
Chase Richardson of Van High School went a combined 6 for 8 at the plate with 1 3B, 2 2B, and 6 RBI. He also had 2 stolen bases and scored 3 runs.

Jordan Salazar, Columbia HS
Game 1 – 2 hits 3 RBI in game 1 victory over Columbus
Game 2 – 1 hit, 2 RBI – in victory over Columbus
Starting pitcher, complete game shutout. 10 K’s, 3 hits in a 5-0 victory. 86 total pitches. 1st2 hits were in the first inning and only gave up one hit the final 6 innings.
