Scouting Report
2/12/17
6-foot-0, 170-pound athletic frame. It is tough to predict where the 2018 graduate will play for Nebraska. With all his athleticism, it’s easy to figure that Shawver will get a chance to fill multiple roles for the Cornhuskers. The two-way Nebraska recruit possess above average athleticism (6.71 60), and in some ways, one could argue that he isn’t fully transferring it over to the mound - which is scary. The 6-foot, 170-pound southpaw uses a rocker step to the outside of his body to initiate his lower half. He follows with a big, deliberate leg kick, temporarily stopping his momentum. On this occasion, he sat 85-86 mph with good natural cut to his fastball. Just as a frame of reference, he showed a top velocity of 92 mph from the outfield on his throws. He supplemented his fastball with a 67-69 mph breaking ball that showed gradual 1/7 break down in the zone. His changeup showed fade to the arm side at 74-77.

6-foot, 160-pound athletic build. Right-handed hitter with a good load and little leg kick. Swing is short and compact that gets in and out of the zone. Registered top exit velocity 77 mph and was 4.26 home to first. In the outfield he utilizes a good run thru and crow hop. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with 83 mph arm strength. On the mound the southpaw has a big leg kick and good separation with some effort in his delivery. From a real high-3/4 slot his fastball sits at 81-83 mph with some down angle. Spins a breaking ball with depth and 1/7 tilt at 63-69 mph. Also, showcased a changeup at 74 mph with good arm speed and life to it.
