With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Amherst Steele Comets

Team Name: Amherst Steele Comets

Conference Record: Southwestern Conference, 16-2, 1st (Tied)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/4

Coach Outlook: “When you have one of, if not the best pitcher in the state returning (Evan Shawver), that's always a good start. If LHP Anthony Berrios and RHP Jack Faight pitch to their capabilities, our starting rotation will be very good. We should be very good defensively, returning our entire outfield, along with the middle infield and catcher. Competing for another SWC Championship and District Championship are now annual goals, but this group could go even farther.”

PBR Outlook: The Comets and coach Rositano have the arms and glove work to once again compete for a district title and beyond in 2018. With Evan Shawver on the mound, the Comets will be favorites in most of those games, so if the other arms come into shape this spring, the Comets have a good chance of making a run on 2018.
