LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - 2021 1B/OF/LHP Braeden Ross of Christian High School has been named this week’s  Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance both at the plate and on the mound last week.

The future Cal State Northridge Matador has put together quite the season in his last go around as a prep player. When we saw him earlier in the spring he led his team to a big win against a perennial San Diego power with two home runs to the pull side and he has continued to hit since.

In three games last week Ross was a whopping 9-for-12 at the plate including three more home runs, 12 RBI, and seven runs scored. By accounting for almost a third of the total runs the Patriots scored, Ross was the leader of an offense that put up 59 runs in their three game league sweep.

Ross also got the start to clinch the series in Game 2 and didn’t disappoint earning the win going four innings allowing only two hits and a one run with six strikeouts. 

On the season Ross is 5-1 with a 1.50 ERA, and 56 K’s in 42 innings pitched. And coming into the week he was hitting .479 with nine home runs, 30 RBI and was tied for fourth in the San Diego Section (all divisions) in HR’s. 

As a team Christian is ranked #1 team in Division 3 in the CIF-SDS and are currently riding an 11 game winning streak at 20-4 overall, 10-0 in league and Ross is at or near the top of most offensive and pitching categories. 

For his outstanding performances last week, we congratulate Kaden Aoki of Huntington Beach HS for being named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of May 17th - May 23rd. We salute his accomplishments and wish he and his teammates continued success this spring.
