On July 25th PBR Colorado will be hosting their first annual Senior Games at Metropolitan State College. We expect to have a great showing of the best 2018 players in the state representing in the event. Below is a look at 2018 C Derek Schroeder and LHP Dillon Schroeder out of Grandview HS. 6-foot, 175 pounds. Pitches primarily out of the stretch. Velocity continues to increase every time we see him. Works at a fast pace. Lands inline to the plate. Comes from high 3/4 arm slot. Gets good extension towards batter with good leg drive. Fastball up to 76-77 touching 78 mph. Off speed pitches are same arm speed as fastball. Change is 69-71 with fade. Curve is 12/6 shape at 66-68 mph. At the plate is a switch hitter. Power side is on right side. Repeats swing on both sides. Wants to jump out at ball. Utilizes leg kick on both sides. Swing is level through the zone. Line drive power. Exit velo was 87 mph from right side, and 81 mph from left. In the field showcased soft hands and good feet around the bag. Arm velo was 76 mph. Ran a 4.3 home to first.

6-foot-0, 170-pound switch hitter who ran a 4.41 home to first from the left side. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance on the right side. A slight tow tap gets his hands and hips moving through the zone. He registered a 79 MPH exit velocity. In the field he showed good mechanics squaring up on balls. He delivered an accurate 76 MPH ball to second base on double plays. On the mound he delivers to the plate in a straight line from an over the top arm angle. He is consistent with arm speed on all three pitches and showcased a 74 MPH fastball, a 59 MPH curve with sweeping break and a 64 MPH change that lived outside.
6-23-15
5-foot-11, 170-pound left-handed sophomore hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and level plane through the ball. A front foot hitter who relies on timing for solid contact up the middle and to the left side, he had a 79 mph exit velocity. On the mound Schroeder had a max fastball of 68 mph and was consistently 67-68. He adds a 57 mph CB and 56-58 mph change. In the field he showed good range at first base with a 69 mph arm velocity and accurate throws to 2nd base.

6-foot, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. Has a tall narrow, opened stance. Closes down on stride. Soft load. Line drive power up the middle. Bat patch short to the ball and through. Produced a 83 mph exit velocity off the tee. If lower half gets more involved it will increase. Behind the dish has soft hands receiving. Fundamental on blocking skills. On throw downs has quick glove to hand exchange from high 3/4 arm slot. Pop times off coach were 2.0 to 2.04 with a 75 mph arm velocity. Ran a 4.6 home to first.
8-6-16
6-foot-0, 175-pound right hand hitting catcher/third base who ran a 7.6 60 time. At the plate he starts with an open stance. Quieted down leg kick from last time we saw him. Now strides out with soft stride for timing. Good lower leg drive through the swing produced an 83 MPH exit velocity. Strong kid. Behind the plate he sets up low in the zone and has good hands while receiving. Improved his pop time to 2.0 off the coach and there is room to improve because arm action is a tad long for a catcher. His arm was 75 MPH with some accuracy.

6-foot-0, 170-pound right hand hitting catcher/third base who ran a 4.41 home to first. At the plate he starts with an open stance and high leg kick brings him square. Good lower leg drive through the swing produced an 82 MPH exit velocity. Behind the plate he sets up low in the zone and has good hands while receiving. He comes through the plate on throw downs and had a pop-time of 2.17. His arm was 74 MPH with some accuracy.
6-23-15
5-foot-11, 170-pound, sophomore uses an open stance with high leg kick to produce a 74 mph exit velocity. Behind the plate he received the ball well and has a quite lower half. His pop-times were 2.34 – 2.36 with an arm velocity of 65 mph. On the mound he throws from the same arm slot as behind the plate. His fastball was 66-68 mph with good command of the outer half. He rounds out his pitches with a 57 mph curve and 61-63 mph change.
