Dawson Sramek (Maize, 2017) recently attended the Top Unsigned Prospect Showcase in Wichita on Oct. 30.
At the event the 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting catchers posted one of the days top 60 times at 6.92-seconds. He had pop times between 2.12 and 2.22 with a positional velo of 71 mph. He had an 84 mph exit velo and was timed at 4.25-seconds to first base from the right side.
Here is a look inside the recruitment of Dawson Sramek.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Sramek: I am not looking for anything in particular besides a great academic program.
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Sramek: I didn’t play much my junior year because i was behind 2016 graduate Jake Karst. Our team won 2016 league, 2016 regionals, and took 3rd place at 5A state.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?
Sramek: To grow as a player. To become well rounded. Improve my hitting. The ultimate goal is to win state in 2017.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Sramek: I play for the Kansas Cannons. I played fall ball with the Kansas Cannons.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Sramek: I play football for Maize High School.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Sramek: My ACT composite score is a 23, but I do plan on taking it again to improve my score. My GPA is a 3.096 on a 4.0 scale
