Scouting Report
Moller has a strong, sturdy frame at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, built to withstand the rigors of catching. Defensively, he has a quick exchange and strong arm that lead to plus pop times. The bat is his carrying tool, as he has a loose, easy and smooth stroke from the right side that generates plus raw power.
Louisiana State recruit. In a quick glimpse of Moller at the plate, the right-handed hitter stands tall with hands held high above the ear remaining still before rocking his weight back with a leg kick that brings his hands down into a power position with the bat slightly wrapped. He showed a propensity to go the other way facing older pitching, and while his timing was sometimes a bit late, he found a way to get it done with line drive up the middle and to right field for hits in some bigger spots.
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Louisiana State commit and #4 ranked player in PBR Overall for 2021 class. 7.32 runner. Wider stance with balance, body load, slight shoulder turn triggers swing, slight lift through contact, consistent hard contact, barrels baseballs with gap to gap approach, 94 mph exit velocity. Athletic behind plate, upper echelon quickness in feet and release, shows ability to receive above avg. pitching, solid blocker, throws short to bag that infielders could handle, 79 mph arm strength with 1.78-1.91 pop times.
3/5/17
5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting catcher. High level prospect in the 2021 class. Extremely advanced for age. Lean athletic build with longer legs; will easily add 20 lbs. to frame through high school. Well above average body control, moves with fluidity, and has natural actions. Clean bat path with present bat speed, line drive approach, shows ability to lift and drive baseballs, mid/pull approach, centers baseball well, 89 mph exit velocity. 78 mph arm strength behind plate with 1.9-1.98 pop times. Slight hitch in release but every throw was knee high and on the bag. Was an above avg. blocker and receiver; handling mid-upper 80’s arms during event.
4/20/16
5-foot-10, 165-pound catcher/infielder, solid frame with some physicality. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, aggressive lower half, good balance. Explosive bat speed for his age, gap to gap bat with pop. Athletic hitter with strong hands, projects as a premium high level bat. Defensively showed natural, advanced actions behind the plate, easy receiver with soft hands, loose low setup, agile lower half. Exchange is quick and clean, advanced transfer and actions out of the crouch. Arm action is short and over the top, showed exceptional carry for his age, 74 mph. Pop times ranged 2.04-2.16, premium catch and throw prospect for his age. On the infield showed good hands and actions as well, projects as a third base type, good body control, arm played similarly and at 79 mph across the diamond. Moller project to be a high level prospect at a premium position behind the plate, high follow 2021 prospect.
6/8/15
5-foot-5, 135-pound, C/RHP, strong build. Defensively showed soft hands, good footwork, clean exchange, natural instincts behind the plate. Short arm action, over-the-top, 63 mph from the crouch.
