Game 1 Standouts
Dalton Meadows RHP / 3B / Franklin County , MS / 2024Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 11
Mississippi got things going in their first game of the PBR Future Games with a handful of dominant performances on the mound, all starting with Meadows leading the way in a quality start. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander has a long, lean and athletic build with room to progress and add size along with more velocity. Meadows worked the fastball in the 86-89 mph range in his start tonight and also ran it up to 90 and 91 at times. The final line for Meadows concluded with three innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run, while also striking out one. Intriguing right-handed arm that should continue to add more strength, size and velocity to his frame. |
Maddox Miller LHP / 1B / Oak Grove , MS / 2025Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 5
The southpaw made his Future Games debut out of the 'pen against a solid Canada team. Miller shows the ability to simply get guys out, forces weak contact and keeps hitters guessing. Managed two strong innings of work, allowing a pair of hits, while walking three. Racked up five strikeouts during his two innings, sitting comfortably with the fastball at 82-86 mph with some natural arm side action. The changeup plays as a go-to for the left-hander and is a pitch he can throw in numerous counts. The rising sophomore stands at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds and has potential to add to the frame. |
Landon Harmon RHP / OF / East Union Attendance Center, MS / 2025Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 3
Coming out of the 'pen to wrap things up for Mississippi is another right-handed arm that made a strong appearance. The 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame is lean, athletic and has plenty of upside. In his outing against Canada, Harmon gathered two innings, allowed just one hit and one earned run. Forced contact during his relief appearance and allowed his defense to work. The fastball was live and stayed in the 87-90 mph range. The righty is an intriguing follow in the 2025 class. |
Banks Teater C / 1B / Magee , MS / 2025Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
The left-handed hitting catcher is a physical and strong presence both at the plate and behind the dish at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Teater shows some juice from the left-side of box with a gap-to-gap approach. Collected two at-bats in the win over Canada, reached via a base knock and also drew a walk. Interesting follow to keep up with throughout the rest of the Future Games and later on down the road. |
Topher Jones 3B / RHP / Hernando, MS / 2024Rankings StateRank: 21 / POS: 3
A handful of tools to like from the 6-foot-0, 190 pound corner infielder and right-handed pitcher, at the dish, shows the ability to drive the baseball to all parts of the field with some juice and has also been up to 87-89 mph on the mound in recent outings. Jones had a solid showing at the plate for Mississippi in their win over Canada, made two appearances at the plate, collected an RBI knock, also reached base on a walk and later came around to score. Is a threat at the plate in any given situation and looks to make things happen with the bat. Expect to see more from Jones both at the plate and on the mound over the next two days. |
