2/24/18 Initiates swing from neutral set up with controlled stride staying neutral. Separation is adequate. There was difficulty being on time with weight shift and hip turn being inconsistent on this day. Swing is short and hands work directly to the baseball. strength and physical frame played to excellent bat exit velocity of 86 mph in young player.
Defensively, hands are adequate, feet work well to baseball and transfer is clean.
On the mound works out of mid 3/4 arm slot. Repeats well and demonstrate good balance. Front foot lands consistently closed limiting hip rotation. Benefit would be gained from landing slightly more in line and driving aggressively over front side in improving extension an downhill plane. FB sat 78-79 mph while being cut to glove side. CB at 64-65 mph showing 11-5 shape with difficulty being commanded on this day. There was solid feel for 70-71 mph CH being commanded and flashing late, downward movement.
