On the Hunt: I-95 Region Preview

The I-95 Region will have a strong representation of some intriguing prospects who may be on the eve of obtaining national attention. Each team presents recruiters in attendance with a plethora of players who have a chance to make an impact at their schools. Having seen many of the players during my travels to the East Coast at PBR events and tournaments such as the Super 17 at Diamond Nation in New Jersey, here are seven that I am eager to get a look at in Indianapolis next week:

Jason Savacool RHP / OF / Baldwinsville, NY / 2020

Savacool has started to receive national attention after a strong summer that included an excellent outing at PBR New York’s Top Prospect Games. Still a young looking 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, Savacool possesses a quick, whippy right arm that allowed him to run his fastball up to 87 at the event. He also shows feel for a 71-72 slider that he controls for strikes, and may end up being a swing and miss pitch in the future. With similar build and athleticism, as well as with him being from New York, Savacool yields some comparisons to 2016 Future Games attendee, Michael Limoncelli, who committed to Pittsburgh after an excellent showing on the mound. I’m looking forward to seeing the athleticism that Savacool brings to the mound, and his high ceiling should pique many of the recruiter’s interest.
