Metro East Open: Statistical Analysis

The Metro East Open took place on Tuesday, June 26 in Belleville, IL. Due to weather, the showcase was forced from Blazier Field in O'Fallon to The King’s Point Sports Club. Once indoors, the 85 participants - ranging from Illinois, Missouri and Kansas - completed the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, live batting practice and pitcher bullpens. Here's a look at the numbers from Tuesday's event.

TOP 60 YARD DASH
There were 10 sub-7 times recorded from attendees. Will Holland (Harrisburg, 2020) clocked the quickest 60 yards of the event with a 6.75. Chris Dansberry (Francis Howell (MO), 2019), Colin Shea (Belleville West, 2020) and Hayden Moore (Edwardsville, 2021) followed suit, separated by slim margins.

Three 2019s top fastball leaderboard with an 85-mph showing. State-ranked Nick Fields (Galesburg, 2019) and Matthew Boyer (Edwardsville, 2019) show 84s. Austin Young (Fort Zumwalt East (MO), 2021) rounds out the board tossing an 83-mph heater.

Eight total 90+ exit velos were posted at the Metro East Open. Luke Paulus (Wentzville Liberty (MO), 2019) and Samuel Biester (Lindbergh (MO), 2020) register 97s to lead the pack. A three-way tie at 94 between Hibbets (Granite City, 2019), Zachary Floyd (Lutheran St. Charles (MO), 2019) and Matthew Schark (Francis Howell (MO), 2020) close out the top showings of the event.
