KS Uncommitted Spotlight: Gabe Fender
October 18, 2022
This Fall PBR will be highlighting some of the top uncommitted players in the 2023 and 2024 classes. Today we take an in-depth look at 2023 RHP Gabe Fender. The St Thomas Aquinas product has one of the better sinking fastballs in the state working into the upper 80's. Fender's fastball shows heavy arm side run and strong sink to the bottom of the zone allowing him to easily get off the barrel of opposing hitters. He pairs the fastball with a short breaking 74 mph curveball with action working away from the hitter showing strong tunneling aspects making it tough on hitters. Fender also shows some strength with the bat in his hands reaching exit velocities up to 94 and showing advanced arm strength from the outfield up to 92. With his athleticism and raw arm strength, Fender has the chance to become a true power arm at the next level and should be one to keep an eye on in the future.
