Top 3

Jeremy Comer OF / RHP / St James Academy, KS / 2023

The Tennessee commit jumps to No. 1 in KS and up to 153 in the overalls after showing up to the MOKAN Preseason All-State Showcase with a much bigger and stronger frame and an eye-popping performance. Comer started his day running a 4.12 home-to-first with a full swing. The left-handed hitter hen put up one of the loudest rounds of BP we have seen on our trackman units posting a max exit velo of 97 and 86 average with a swing that will continue to play at the next level. Comer also showed big arm strength at 89 mph from the outfield and 86 on the mound.

Kasey Crawford RHP / OF / Olathe West, KS / 2023

Oklahoma commit Kasey Crawford already shows high end velo with a ton of projection left in his 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame. At the MOKAN Fall Underclass Prospect Games, Crawford impressed by using and athletic delivery and low-3/4 slot to  pound the strike zone. Crawford featured upper 80s fastball showing consistent arm-side run and sink at the bottom of the zone. He also mixed a slider in the low 70s and an advanced changeup in the mid 70s. Crawford also hits for the OW Owls, one of the top offences in the state.

Jaxon Goldberg SS / OF / Blue Valley North, KS / 2023

The top infielder on the list and No. 3 overall is the athletic SS Jaxon Goldberg. Able to play any infield or outfield position, switch hit, and star in other spots, Goldberg is arguably the one of the best all-around athlete in the class. Offensively, Golderberg put on a clinic against of the best arms in the country at this year's Future Games with multiple hits in all three games.

Risers

The summer and fall of 2020 saw a flood of new talent make a name for themselves. These three below led the way with some impressive performances at the MOKAN Preseason All-State, jumping into the top 20.

Jason Nei OF / RHP / Blue Valley Northwest , KS / 2023

A physically impressive 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame packed with strength, Nei saw all of his measurables make a jump at the MOKAN Preseason All-State Showcase. The right-hander showed arm strength from the outfield at 80 and on the mound at 83. The right-handed hitter posted a 90 mph exit velo off the tee and a solid round of BP with some of the top bat speed at the event averaging 72 mph.

Harry Tryban SS / OF / Olathe East, KS / 2023

A 5-foot-9, 160-pound quick twitch athlete, Tryban ripped off a blazing 3.90 home-to-first at the MOKAN Preseason All-State getting up to full speed in an instant. The right-handed hitter showed exit velos in BP up to 88, barreling every single ball on a line in the middle of the cage, an approach that plays to his speed. Defensively, Tryban shows the hands, feet, and range to continue developing into an elite infielder. Tryban will always be an asset in the outfield as well with his electric first step. The right-hander also jumped on the mound and showed some arm strength up to 81.

Easton Wasinger 1B / LHP / Blue Valley Northwest , KS / 2023

A strong bodied 6-foot-2, 230-pound left-handed hitter with juice, Wasinger not only impressed at the MOKAN Preseason All-State Showcase, he has also leady the BV Northwest offense in the 3-hole this spring. Wasinger showed exit velow up to 92 in his round of BP with an average of 87 after barreling nearly every pitch with a clean and efficient swing.

Newcomers

We add over 20 player join the KS Class of 2023 rankings in this addition. Below are the top 3 who all enter the rankings in the top 15, but make sure to check out the rakings for numerus other top prospects.

Greyson Chappel RHP / 1B / De Soto , KS / 2023

Arguably the most projectable prospect in the class, Chappel stands an jaw-dropping 6-foot-7, 210-pounds. The right-hander pounded the zone with all three pitches during his pen at the MOKAN Preseason All-State, featuring a fastball up to 85. Chappel moves well, especially for a young arm with such size and will likely add much more velo in the near future.

Drew Veatch SS / OF / El Dorado, KS / 2023

As quick twitch as they come a this age, Veatch really stood out at the Area Code event held in KC. The 5-foot-11, 150-pound athlete ran two laser timed 60s in the 6.6s. The right-handed hitter had a solid round of BP posting a max exit velo of 89 with a wood bat. Defensively, Veatch's pure athleticism will allow him to stay on the infield at the high school level, but his speed will likely transition him to center field at the next level.

Braden Horn C / 1B / Derby, KS / 2023

Another Area Code event standout, Horn stands a strong 6-foot-3, 220-pounds with arm strength and barrel strength. Offensively, Horn showed exit velos up to 90 off the tee and in BP with wood, flashing some big pull side pop. Defensively, the catcher showed strong hands and arm strength at 77 mph and used the turf to show pop times as low as 1.95.
