Scouting Report
10/29/16 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed good balance with a feel for the barrel. Low hand position in load leads to some length in his swing but the sophomore displayed the ability to get to the hitting zone on time with regularity leading to a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Above average defender showcased pop times of 2.09-2.15 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch. 7.51 runner displayed a clean transition and accurate arm with good carry to his throws.
11/7/15 5-foot-11, 155-pound right-handed hitter initiates his swing with a toe tap stride. Displayed a line drive approach with a solid feel for the barrel and a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Showcased sound catch and throw skills with accurate 69 mph arm strength from the crouch. A clean transition and solid footwork leads to pop times of 2.28-2.44. Physical maturity and strength gains should lead to development in all areas of the game.
6/24/15 5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed hitter. Hit from slightly closed stance with short stride and some barrel wrap in otherwise compact swing. One of youngest participants at the event, would benefit from ensuring his front heel is down on time, so that he can get the bat started on time. Ran a 7.92 60-yard dash. Showcased 75-mph exit velocity and 68-mph arm strength during workout. Posted four straight 2.28 workout pop times. Solid footwork and exchange, glove stays up and travels short distance. Showed some lateral mobility when blocking.
2/7/15 Aslansan displayed advanced defensive abilities for a player his age. The 5-foot-10, 140-pound catcher exhibited quick feet, a clean transfer and the ability to gain ground with a top pop time of 2.28. The right handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and exhibited a direct swing path while routinely squaring the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Aslansan should continue to develop as he physically matures and will be a catcher to follow in this class.
