The overall 2017 rankings have been updated this week. After the recent PBR Future Games, which had a big impact on the stock of several prospects around our coverage area, the rankings saw a big shakeup across our coverage area. Our PBR coverage area continues to expand, now up to 27 states, our 2017 rankings now include New Jersey, all of the New England states and Ontario.

It continually gets harder for states to see their prospects make the cut, but Illinois is doing more than holding its own with 26 prospects making the Overall Top 300. Illinois also found themselves with 12 prospects that were entirely new to the Overall Rankings.
Ranked No. 1 in Illinois and committed to Florida, Catcher Cal Greenfield (St. Rita, 2017) continues to climb the rankings as he is now ranked No. 14 overall, previously No. 64. Greenfield continues to show advanced catch and throw abilities and a strong bat with power potential.
Three participants in this summer’s PBR Future Games, all pitchers, went from unranked in the overall rankings, to well inside the Top 100. RHP Brady Corrigan (Plainfield North, 2017) sat 88-90 mph with a wipe-out curveball at the Future Games now sits 27th overall and No. 2 in the state of Illinois. Corrigan has been receiving high interest from some of college baseball’s powerhouse programs around the country.
LHP Reid Detmers (Nokomis, 2017) recently committed to Louisville, now ranked 57th overall, had one of the most impressive performances at the Future games, striking out six of the seven batters he faced.
RHP Mark Diluia (Marian Central Catholic, 2017) 6-foot-3, 175-pound projectable arm from a ¾ slot finds himself 75th overall.
LHP Tyler Mettetal (St. Charles North, 2017) is another prospect, previously unranked, who burst onto the national stage this summer and is now 65th in the Overall Rankings. Mettetal is a bulldog on the mound with lots of athleticism and recently committed to South Carolina.
LHP Ryan Eiermann (Naperville Central, 2017) committed to TCU, now sits at No. 71 overall and No. 9 in the state of Illinois. Eiermann thrust himself onto the scene in a big way during his high school season this spring. He was named 1st Team All-State, Finished the year 8-1 with a 0.56 ERA and struck out 114 hitters which ranks third all-time in the Naperville Central single-season record book.
Some other notable prospects from Illinois who made the overall rankings for the first time are SS Ryan King (Brother Rice) committed to Michigan State, OF/RHP Dylan Jones (Oswego East) committed to Illinois, MIF Connor Gurnik (Naperville Central), SS Justin Diaz (Lake View), SS Angelo Smith (Richards), catcher Keaton Rice (Geneseo) and catcher Merrik Eddington (Mount Zion).
