With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Genoa Area Comets

Team Name: Genoa Area Comets
Head Coach: Gary Nissen
Division: III
2018 Record: 18-6
Conference Record: Northern Buckeye Conference 10-4 (3rd)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/5

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Starting Pitching and Depth

Coach Outlook: "Our goals continue to be win the NBC, win the District and win 20 games. We have made positive strides toward those goals and look forward to competing in a difficult Northern Buckeye Conference and District."

PBR Outlook: A team to watch in Division III this upcoming season is the Genoa Comets. Coach Gary Nissen has the team confident heading into 2019. Coming off an 18-win season in 2018 and seven starters returning along with numerous talented arms, look for Genoa to be a team to watch all year long.
